I'd have to say no.

First, to lump all Muslims into this category is a mistake. The vast majority do not want death to all infidels. They want to practice their religion and just get on with life.

Now the radicals or as we call them, "Extremists", are an entirely different story. Some of them do want to eradicate infidels. Some of them, most notable the Wahabi, would even kill fellow Muslims for being too progressive and therefore not true believers.

The one thing in our favor and the reason I voted "no", there are too many different extremists groups. They are not united and often do battle with each other. Take for instance Sunni and Shia extremists. They are just as likely to kill each other as they are loikely to kill non-Muslims. Also look at JAM and BADR, two Shia extremist groups who often battle each other, even though they are both Shia.

If all Muslim extremist groups became united, I think they could commit atrocities on the magnitude of the Nazis. I also think this is highly unlikely because of differing goals and the current power struggle between them.

There is something to that, but a lot of it is a hold-over from the aftermath of WW1. After the various Arab revolts after WW1 (they were free from the Ottoman Empire, but now being exploited by the British and French), things culminated in WW2: After Vichy became an Axis supporter (not partner) and Syria came under Vichy control, the Arabic population saw Germany as an opertunity to overthrow British control over their region (they were more anti-British than pro-Nazi).
In 1936 there was a rebellion in Palestine, and then another one which overthrew the government in Iraq in 1941, both were supported by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin el-Huseini. After the userping Iraqi government was defeated el-Huseini fled to Berlin, and from there he went to Boznia to raise two divisions of Waffen-SS (Handschar and another one).
Later in the war the Soviet Union and Britian invaded Persia (Modern Iran) to prevent German influence in the country. Although the Sha begged the United States to intervien on their behalf roosevelt stated that it was for the good of the world. The new Sha was the same one that was overthrown in 1979.
So this led to a general antagonism of the Near Eastern World against the West. Saddam Hussain was told stories of his uncles participation in the Iraqi 1941 revolt and that encouraged him to solve problems through military force.
Today: No the fanatics are not Nazis, although there is some sympathy for the movement since they gave at least half-hearted assistance to them against the British.
The fanatics do not want to kill every race, they simply want to convert the world to their poisoned outlook of Islam, the Muslim fanatics (this is an extreme minority of Muslims) readily accept westerners into their caves and hovels if they believe what the fanatics want them to believe.

The nazis didn't want to kill every race. They wanted the jews out of Germany and even toyed with the idea of deporting them to Madagascar, which was of course discarded. However, radicals and some of the muslim world in general share a similar views of jews.

Well there is more to it than that... The Nazi's led a highly industrialized nation of patriotic flag-wavers. They invaded nations who were much weaker than them militarily. They had a highly advanced media and propaganda machine. They took away long standing rights of their citizens and began spying on their own population. They spoke of peace but waged war. Hitler was a big friend of Henry Ford (founder of Ford Motor Company). They used IBM to catalog holocaust victims (the tattooed numbers were an IBM font). Let's see what else... Oh yeah, they attacked the middle east for their petroleum resources (CAN'T forget about that one). Hmmm, what else... they were the most advanced military in the world at the time.

So anyway... NO, I don't think Islamic Radicals are the modern day Nazi's. Islamic Radicals suck big-time, but so do other religious radicals who think that other religious persons are going to burn in hell and are willing to facilitate that. That reminds me... the Abrams tank was originally called the "Crusader" tank and uses the "Crusader" Artillery system. LOL.
