Depends. Many are quite safe but it some places they overload regularly. I always make sure I find where the life-jackets are stored and sit/stand near them. Make a mental note of where the life-boats are as well, and stay on the top deck where you can get out quickly.

A lucky Rabbits foot. Those are some scary ferry's dude, and some of the least safe in the whole word. Some of the practices you will find hard to believe. A bit of advice, when the crew start to put on life jackets, Panic!

It's safe(except for Malaysia). There's no need for safety precautions.

undo the life boat and tie to the ship youll then be pulled at a safe distance, if theres a lifeboat!

I would go to your local swimming pool and practise treading water.....make sure you have a life jacket might be worth buying your own.
