Okay, I did something bad. I am Bipolar and I was having a manic episoid in Church. I was hearing voices in my head and I was trying to get help but no one would listen to me, everyone ignoired me. I even pulled out my hair screaming and everyone ignoired me. I got this urg to go into the santuary and steal the little number things off the wall that indicate the hym number. I took them all and I put them in the urinal in the mens bathroom. I feel kinda bad about it but I don't know what to do.

My wife has a cousin that is also bi-polar. He is off his meds, because he feels he doesn't need them. I am wondering, were you on a high before you felt yourself crashing? Did anyone in the congregation know that you are bi-polar? You seem to have more problems than just bi-polar disorder (formerly known as "manic depression"). I am not a doctor, but have studied some on other types of conditions. Schizophrenia comes to mind, since you were hearing voices in your head. Your behavior most likely caught the attention of the bishopric and they will ask you to meet with them and probably discuss your actions. Do not worry, as long as you tell them the truth, they won't make too much of a to-do about it, especially putting the hymn numbers into the urinal. I'm sorry that your congregation did not lift a finger to help you and that is on them, not the church. I also wonder if any of your family is also a member of the church. If you do have family in your ward, you should trust them with your medication. If not, ask a close friend or possibly a member of the bishopric to hold your meds for you. It also seems that the congregation was unsure what your actions would entail if they interfered. Maybe your erratic behavior gave them pause and were apprehensive fearing that you might become violent towards them.

Again as a member of the church, I am truly sorry for your predicament.

Hi friend. Bipolar disorder is serious and requires the proper medication. If you've gone off your medication, this episode clearly indicates that you should start taking it again. If you're currently on medication, your dose should be increased. Either way, talk to your psychologist before making any changes to your medical regiment. It also seems likely that your idea that "everyone was ignoring you" was a consequence of your disorder. I think few people would be able to ignore the episode you describe!

You should speak to the bishop and explain the situation to him so he can be better prepared to help you in the future. He may also be able to offer you spiritual support to supplement your medication. I think social etiquette would require that you ask the bishop if you can pay for the numbers you took.

By the way, in Mormonism we call the "sanctuary" the "sacrament meeting room." You must be new to the religion? If you have any questions, feel free to visit my site at http://www.allaboutmormons.com .

If you are going to pretend you are a Mormon at least learn Mormon terminology. We do not use the term santuary for the area that you are talking about.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh

take responsibility for your actions.

My kids are Aspergers and when they destroy school property -- I pay for it and then they repair it.

Doesn't matter where you are or what religion you are in you take responsibility.

As far as going into the "sanctuary" -- not a typical Mormon phrase so I assume you are a troll.

as far as everyone ignoring you -- if your having an "episode" your perception is screwed -- so again I think u are a TROLL

I will pray for you, but honestly, it might be better to speak to your psychologist. It sounds as though you may need to be prescribed have some medications, or adjustments made to your current dosage.

God bless.

Mormons cannot help themselves and you want them to help you. It is like a blind leading the blind.
