This whole Christian issue would be much easier to comprehend if this God had shown up and had been killed for the sins of the people.

Apparently he said to Moses, or somebody, that he couldn't show himself in his form as "Moses" would be frightened..

Correct me if I'm wrong..

If Jesus WAS God, why on Earth did he cry out "My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?"?

If he WAS God, why would he call out to himself like that?

I understand what you mean. I don't understand why God would have to sacrifice His son for us to have eternal life. He's God, why couldn't He just make this happen without putting Jesus through the suffering? I'm not a Christian but I believe that the point of the whole thing is: You may never understand it totally, but that's what faith is about. You believe that Jesus had to die for your sins because that's just what God had to do, and if you believe in eternal life, it doesn't matter that Jesus had to suffer for this, since Jesus is now enjoying eternal life. Sure, the Bible says Jesus is God in human form, and that is hard to understand too, but like I said it's about faith. The person that said about Jesus crying out to God while he was on the cross did bring up a very good point.

you are wrong....Jesus was God...in human form....the only safe way for God to come to Earth, if he came as the spirit being that he is...he would have destroyed the Earth because of the sin on the Earth.

And the reason Moses could not see God was because of the Holiness and the shear almighty power..he was so powerful it would have killed anyone who looked at God

The world could not take God revealing himself in all of his glory as he is in heaven.

God had to come to earth in the form of a man, because it was man who had sinned, and to whom God had given the law, so that, when the Redeemer came and kept the law perfectly, and fulfilled the whole law, he would be justified in justifying them that are redeemed by the shedding of his blood.

I just love reading all these answers
some are obviously parrots squawking dogma that they have heard preached at them
but there are also those that dont even know that they are validating the question (just like so many that answer MY questions) but the anti's are a source of much chuckling for me
I think I truly love those that some call the 'Blasphemers'

You missed it somewhere. Jesus is God. That's what Christians keep saying.

. . . . where to start? lol

It was promised in the Old Testament that God would be the savior. In fact, it literally says, God is my savior. Try reading Psalm 45, and Psalm 24. There's more. But I really wonder if you'll read them, and then understand what you read.

You can e-mail me with more questions if you like.

Because blood had to be shed. Plus Jesus was God in the flesh, so in a way he did come. Yes it's true and yes God was in heaven while Jesus was here on earth. Common sense people, God is a spirit, therefore He was still in heaven. You have a glass of water with ice in it, at the same time the water is evaporating. So you have 3 forms of H2O, solid, liguid, and a gas. While all three are in different forms all three are still one.

God is Trinity---Father, Son and Holy Spirit.------3 persons, one God. Jesus is God the Son.
He is fully God and fully man.
He became man so that He could die in our place because sin had to be paid for to satisfy God's justice. Jesus died, was buried and was resurrected and now is in heaven.
This is God's merciful and just plan and the way we can have peace with Him.

Frightened? You wouldn't be able to stand it. God did us a favor by using a human form.
