november is a fine month to visit, although i would more recommend october and december.
october, because the summer heat and humidity are over and those first clear and chilly days are such a treat. the green leaves are still up, beginning to change into fall colors. the fall arts season is going into high gear.
december, because the holiday lights and glitter are all up, and the pedestrian activity is at its greatest. the tourists and natives are here at the same time. and you might get some snow.
it doesn't usually get oppressively gold here, so that's not really an issue.

NYC is cold in November. It is also more expensive due to the holiday season. So expect to pay more for a hotel. Best months to visit are every month except January and February when it is brutally cold. March has St Pattys and the Spring weather is starting...April and May beautiful weather as well, June-August gets warmer obviously and is more touristy because of it. Sept-Oct are also great because of the fall weather.
Best months: March-May and Sept
Worst months: Jan and Feb

If you're worried about cold, don't come in February, which usually has the most snow and coldest temperatures. November's not too bad, usually, but it can vary widely. The Radio City Music Hall Christmas show starts in mid-November, I think, and that's really great. Around Thanksgiving, things get crowded because of the parade, but after that, until Christmas, there's no time of year that the city is as beautiful.

If you are not used to cold weather don't come. November is not freezing but is should be cold enough.
In my opinion the winter is the best time to visit New York for its charm and beauty.
The summer if fun too if you can wait until next June.
No matter when you come go out to the Meat Pack District. I think you will have fun there...

End of November is chilly, but wonderful, the Christmas decorations are up and not dusty yet.
The chestnut vendors are out, and the scent of roasted chestnuts on chilled air IS Christmas to me.
No one is tired of Christmas carols, or shopping. Its cold enough to visit all the museums without the heat wearing you out.
Of course Spring and early June is incredible in either of our two Botanical Gardens, call ahead and ask when the roses are in bloom in Brooklyn or Bronx, all this asphalt, and yet some of the most beautiful gardens anywhere.
I suppose it depends on what you are interested in seeing, theres so much of everything here.
We'll be looking forward to seeing you.

From the looks of you in your picture I would say you would have the best time in the summer. You and your friends could have a blast there in the hot months, walking the streets of the Village and taking the trains all over the place, a ride on the Staen Island Ferry....

For the money the best month is February. Everything for the winter is reduced in price. November is Thanksgiving Day parade. There are so many people there you won't feel the chill in the air.

yea it will be cold. You should have went last month or early this month before the weather started to break. Unless you like the cold, you may want to wait until spring when it starts to warm up a little.

If costisn't an issue, Spring and Fall are the best times in NYC for most things, esp. weather. You can find deals as most people travel to beaches during that time. There are also so many events in NYC during that time.
