It would be better if you adopted a dog because there are some real sweethearts at your local Humane Society. But if you really want a pure breed chihuahua or yorkie then try the Pennysaver. I doubt you'll be able to find a yorkie for under 300 anywhere... But I bought my little chihuahua from Pennysaver for $180 and she's the sweetest dog I've ever had!

Try a rescue or shelter. No respectable breeder will sell any dog for less that $800. It costs a lot of money to breed and most of the time even selling at $800 a breeder won't break even. The ones who cost less are from backyard breeders who don't care about the dogs genetic health, provide very little to no veterinary care, and don't bother to properly socialize the pups. Especially beware if they offer to let the pups go prior to 10 weeks of age. This is a sure sign that they are in it for the money and not for the passion. Your best bet though would be a shelter or rescue.

Great question, but please, first and most importantly...instead of saying "I don't want to spend no more...", please re-phrase this to "... I don't want to spend ANY more..." Also, "full-grown" should be "fully grown". Good grammar is a life-long process, so enjoy it!!! To answer your question, I suggest going online to find breed rescues. Your local SPCA might have this information, or check under some heading like "Chihuahua Rescue.org etc. Above all else, please DO NOT go to a pet store...they sometimes buy from puppy mills, and you may spend a great deal of money for a pet that is too inbred/basically retarded, or even ill. They are also typically over-priced. Please pardon my grammatical criticisms, I'm delighted that you want to share your life with a being that is capable of unconditional love. You must have a loving heart to want to care for nature's smallest creatures. Best of luck to you!

go to your local animal shelter, the dogs there are much more loving and need home, plus the dogs you pick up from your local pet mart are most likly breeded in a small area (porbaly inbreaded), deifnatly full of disaeses and problems, and i can 100% guarentee you that the little dog you pick up from your evil pet shop will have health problems (heart, etc.), a animal shelter will tell you there conditiona and those dogs are much more loving for rescuign them, plus the dogs at teh pet shop will defianlty have personality problems to go along with those health problems.

A Chi you can get really cheap because there are so many bred by dorks. A Yorkie always gets $900+. So try petfinder.com and see if shelters have any.

go to the local animal shelter. all you pay for is the neutering. also: try the spca. they have volunteer groups that will help you look for certain breeds as they come in.

If you really cared about a dog, you would adopt one.
If you are going to be so picky, maybe you just want one for the status.
