Remember when buying a kit car you are building the car as they have built it. If you want your own style, a different engine, or anything else different on the vehicle you would be paying double, once for the part that came with the kit and again for the part you want. Why not restore a vehicle and drop in all the parts you want from the beginning.

I'm not real sure if they are making kit cars for Mustangs, Camaros, or Chargers.

You would be better off finding an old one and restoring it. I do believe that you can build a 69 Camaro from all the parts that Year One has, but I don't think it is offered as a kit.
