You have brought up several arguments, some some what conflicting.
First, I will explain. I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I do have a MySpace page.
I have seen the issue of such things as MySpace brought up on here allot.
Never has having a MySpace account been considered completely bad, in and of it self. (well surely some feel it is, but most don't) However warnings come in, and not just from the society, about the kind of conduct and content found on there.
Example, I have an account with GameKnot. It is chess site. It there anything wrong with this?? No. However, if on that venue, I started looking at nude pictures of girls or putting up nasty content that Would be wrong.
The warnings and advice are because of the Biblical addage about what Bad association does to usefull habits.
I am at times shocked by the rude and vulgar messages I have been sent, including on MySpace. The content that can, and often does, appear on MySpace is such that many schools now ban it from being displayed on the school computers.
As for the things you say these minors are doing on MySpace. I gotta wonder, if you feel that these kids are doing things that are putting their spirituallity at risk, Have you said Anything??
As for there being photos of them kissing, while not advisable, that certainly isn't a disfellowshipping offence.

There are valid reasons why the society over and over again warn youths to take precaustions or stay away from websites that can do them harm. I have myspace and friendster but i used with extra care. However, I have a friend in the congregation who got hooked on my Myspace.com
She was a regular pioneer and an elder's daughter. Anyway, i do not know what kind of information she got from myspace or who she was associating with in the web or what information she gave out. In the end, pictures of her were posted in the internet (and they were not modest pictures either). It was shown to the elders of course. They had a talk with her and her parents. To make a long story short, she is now considered in-active in the congregation. She doesn't attend the meetings anymore.
It is very sad. When she does attend the meetings, we still treat her with respect and show her how happy we are to see her but her feelings towards us is not the same.
BAD ASSOCIATIONS SPOIL USEFUL HABITS (1 Cor. 15:33) Myspace and the bad association she got into did spoil her useful habits. That is WHY, because of their love for our youths and members of the congregation, the Society repeatedly and will continue to remind us to use internet wisely.
YOu could be right...it shows who they really are. Sadly, yes, some CHristians live a double life. Yet, some were influenced by peers who do not share their beliefs to be who they are.
Just a short reply to "agnostic boy"--- yes, Jehovah did say they can live the way they want to be. Notice what he said:
“Rejoice, young man, in your youth, . . . and walk in the ways of your heart and in the things seen by your eyes....."
"But know that on account of all these the true God will bring you into judgment.”—ECCLESIASTES 11:9
So, there you go. You are right. Jehovah himself said to enjoy your youth....but he also said that he will bring you into judgement.
This text should remind us what it is written in Galatians 6:7 "Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; "

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I googled "Dangers of myspace" to see what people besides Jehovah's Witnesses had to say about this topic. Here are just a few of the links I found:

I don't know if you will bother to check out any of these links, but this is just to show you that not just Jehovah's Witnesses consider myspace to be a dangerous place for kids.
There are a lot of clueless parents out there. The information you mentioned is a warning to parents. Be aware of what your kids are doing. Parents throughout the world are being warned the very same thing, as you can see from the links I posted. Obviously, the parents of the kids you mentioned need to be a little more diligent in finding out what their kids are up to.

Anonymous internet association is bad for young people, yes.
The problem is not primarily with Christians who use websites such as Myspace, but with non-Christians who scheme to misuse the information which has been posted there naively.
A Jehovah's Witness cannot be disfellowshipped for having a Myspace page, or for using Myspace, or for kissing. It seems quite possible that full-time ministers and elder's sons and daughters do such things, but it would be better if they did not publicize their unwise examples.

So from these findings, we can see that Jehovah's witnesses get ignorant as they age, because the teens seem to know the truth about it.
The reason why the watchtower society doesn't like myspace is because kids in the congregation can make friends with those outside of the religion, therefore get to know the truth. the watchtower and the truth don't mix in any way and the watchtower society tries to confine those in the congregation so they can be brainwashed with whatever it is the crackpots believe in.

Another example that life by the law condemns by the law. [sigh]
Leave a comment: "Hii qt! I ttly lyke ur Myspace, iz it Watchtwr appr0vd?"
Don't really though... I like to think I'm funny sometimes and am being completely facetious. I'd just let it happen... they're young and don't know the particulars (or anything) about the religion of their parents. They'll find a way of their own.

or better yet let them live their lives. Im pretty sure Jehovah wanted them to celebrate and be happy, not live their entire lives following rules and not being able to celebrate anything.
think about it, whats the whole point of being here on earth if its not to have fun and live life?
I feel bad for the people who live that way because their parents force them to. If they choose not to then whatever, but if they cant celebrate against their own will then I think thats wrong.

I think its great that JehW's are on myspace - anything they do to interact with the real world, is a positive thing. The truth, or access to it, are the main threats to Jehovah's witnesses.
