Read an article that states that Nancy Pelosi is behind this one and after further research it was true that she is using this as a way to get Turkey mad as the US and in turn they will no longer allow us to use the airspace or the military bases if we pass this resolution.

Is it me or does it seem that she is playing politics with the military lives by making thier job that much harder?
Any other take on what is motivating this woman?
Is this wrong or just the way things are donw?

The Democrats are attempting to sabotage our relations with Turkey so they can blame the President for a foreign policy "blunder."

It doesn't matter how long ago it was. It's a matter of principle - when a genocide is perpetrated on a particular people, the least we can do is remember them.

It's important to learn about the tragedies of the past to understand why things are the way they are today, and to know how to prevent them from happening again. Instead, the Turkish government would rather that everyone forget it happened to make their ancestors look good.

Will it have a profound effect on the alliance with Turkey? Probably would. Would an official recognization be the right thing to do? Yes. If it served to improve the diplomatic standing with other nations, would it be right for the US government to officially state that Holocausts in Europe and the Pacific never happened?

It's another way for Pelosi and the traitor Democrats to try to make winning in Iraq as hard as possible on the President.

In 2000 when Clinton was President, he asked the Republican controlled Congress to refrain from exactly the same rebuke. He cited a need to maintain Turkey as an ally in relation to Iraq (No-Fly Zone). Of course the Republican controlled Congress through the Speaker honored this request, because they put America's best interest above their own politics.

Do you think for one minute that Speaker Pelosi and the traitor Democrats of this Congress will do the same? Not one chance in Hell.

It just goes to show you - the Democrats are a bunch of backstabbing, traitorous, belly-crawling low-lifes.

Since the end of WW1 there has been a motion in place by various Nations for Turkey to admit what it did to the Armenians, the Turkish have denied it, it is not mentioned in their history books, and if it is spoken or written about in Turkey the writer faces arrest and imprisonment.

It ranks next to Japan's mentality of denying they did anything bad in WW2, current Japanese school history books manage to gloss over what they were responsible for too.

Surely some debt is owed to the innocents, so brutally used and their memories cast away like a used handkerchief??

Maybe it's vice-versa, we refuse to recognize the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians because we don't want to anger Turkey.

It should also be noted that debate was taken up in Turkey that same week on whether to allow the Turkish military to take short excursions into northern Iraq(which we really, really do not want to keep the Kurds happy) to deal with Kurdish rebels.

We scratch their back, they scratch ours.

It just proves that Nancy Pelosi is as duplicitous as the rest of the Democrats. It's just another way the Democrats support our troops.

If you want to make the military's job easier maybe you shouldn't be voting for people that don't know how to resolve the occupations they started.
