There is no reason. Other than being a coward to reality and close minded.

Ralishev. As it happens, God has sent messengers.
God says in the quran: We do not punish people without sending messengers.
The jews came to be because God sent a prophet. Miracles took place in their time. In mose's time, people were into magic and the type of miracles performed were oof this type: splitting of the sea, the stick that turned into a snake etc.
At the time of Jesus pbuh, they were strongly into medicine
and the types of miracles that jesus pbuh came were healing in nature. Healing the lepors, the blind etc.
Those people's experiences were real or they would not have believed and it would not have been such a widespread idea.
Go ahead, spread a false rumour like: lepricorns exist and come up with all sorts of stories and see how widespread that belief becomes.
Exactly, it will not go very far, but God is real, which is why billions of people beleive in God.
The quran and the final messenger of God was sent to mankind till the end of time. Since there are no more messengers coming, it is easy to get the sense of " hey, did those things ever really happen? did the sea really get split? and so on".
For this the quran stands the test of time. First it is the only religious book whose verses have been documented and memorized at the time of the prophet pbuh, and it exists with us to this day in its original form. God's words (quran) are separated from prophet's words (hadith) to the historical accounts. Hence there is no mix up as is happening in christianity.
Secondly, it contains information that there is no way could have been known at the time the prophet pbuh lived because they did not have the technology to know these things. And please do not tell me that some ancient tribes knew that
(the most they had were theories). Show me ONE tribe that knew all the scientific info in the quran, not to mention the quran is consistently right. All this information through an unlettered man.
See what scientists have said about scientific evidence in the quran:

For the same reason people believe[d] Professional wrestling is real , that G.W.Bush had a plan , that Santa Clause exists , that their wife is faithful , that Sadam had WMD , that Astrology has any meaning other than entertainment , that Hiro Hito was a god , that Sun Yung Moon is god , that there are [ Scientology ] criminals from other galaxies down in the volcanos , and on and on .
We all need something to believe in from time to time , no matter how stupid it is ! I believe I'm going to hit the lottery someday . At least it's simple . It doesn't require me to attend weekly meetings or live in fear of hell .
What DO I believe as far as where it all came from in the begiining ? I believe the world is so vast and complicated that our small intellects can not understand it . Not anymore than a bacterium can understand the workings of a nuclear reactor . I CAN understand that there is NOT an all loving AND all powerful "god" entity looking down on us with care . Otherwise the Earth would not be filled with so much pain , suffering and confusion for all the humans and animals .
Little Duke Ali'l : You say it is "beyond human comprehension" ... And then you go on and define your "God" . See anything wrong there ?

Contrary to what your already closed mind believes, I do not blindly believe in God. I searched for the truth ever since I was young and I will admit spent most of my life in doubt as an atheist, but after a long wait I was finally rewarded with the truth. God is real my friend, whether or whether not you choose to believe. Something is going on beyond human comprehension.

since you say, we do not know how we got here, how can you be SO SURE that there is no God that created us? He is not magic fairy man, HE IS GOD- and He did not have to create us, but He chose too, and loves His children so much He sent Jesus to come to earth to die for us, so that we could have a relationship with God. We burn forever, as you put it if we choose not to accept Christ's payment for our sin= God is love- accept it or not. I know that God is truth, you don't, but let us just for a moment think of this. What if I am wrong and there is no God and this whole thing about judgment is ridiculous= I would love nothing by believing, however, if there is a God, where does that leave you?

Much of what we believe, all of us, we believe without much examination, whether that be God or absence of God or the notion that the elevator is going to work.
"Why We Believe What We Believe" is a fascinating book, principally authored by Andrew Newberg, that explores the neurobiology of belief. Since i read it, I find myself much more open-minded about other people's beliefs, and for that, I'm rather grateful.

To presuppose that an all-powerful being could be contained by its creation is not logical.
The reality I know rejects such conceptions of God, and by the way, it's been proven logically by Kurt Gödel, as well as Immanuel Kant, et al., that not all truth can be proven logically - look t up...
God bless.

You are intitled to your opinion. Such as it is. But so am I.
Show me what real evidence you have. Not some theory by a scientist. But some body who was there when the world was created. But of course that would be God.

none. there is a line of reasoning that concludes a "first cause". that argument is not without its problems but more importantly i think, identifying the first cause with any particular traditional god is entirely arbitrary. believing requires faith, which is considered by some to be a virtue.

As it happens, we DO know how we got here [ref. 1] -- and no sort of god had anything to do with it. The reasoning, or lack thereof, is examined in [ref. 2]. For an examination of the science, see [ref. 3].
