Christianity:
Jesus is God.
Islam:
Jesus is just a prophet.
Christianity:
Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind.
Islam:
Jesus did not die on the cross.
Christianity:
Jesus's death paved the way for us to have a relationship with God regardless of what we have done in the past. God did all the work for you to know him.
Islam:
You must earn God's love and respect by work that you do. The 5 pillars: praying, fasting, pilgrimage, donating money etc.
Christianity:
You may come to God in prayer any time you like, Jesus's blood has washed you clean once and for all and made you acceptable to God.
Islam:
When you come to God in prayer you must ritually cleanse yourself because you are unclean before God. Each time you come to pray you must physically prepare yourself to be in his presence.
Christianity:
Christians are commanded to tell all the world about Jesus and what he did. If we meet violent opposition to our message, we are to forgive those who persecute us, and to submit even to death if we are captured or threatened.
Islam:
Muslims are commanded to spread Islam all over the world. If they meet violent opposition to Islam, they are authorized to fight back, conquer, and tax non-muslims.
Christianity:
The founder Jesus was a holy man who healed the sick, fed the hungry, performed many miracles. He was put to death for his teachings but he rose to life again proving that he was truly the son of God. He never had a wife or a child, but his legacy lives on to this day.
Islam:
The founder Mohammed performed no miracles, except to recite the Qur'an. He lead many battles to conquer and unite the pagan peoples around him. He had at least 11 wives, one of whom was 7 years old when they married.

I'm inclined to think it is the national and ethnic cultures that are farthest apart, not the religions. I understand that in cultures where women are oppressed, for instance, this oppression is practiced by all the religious groups there.
There is a book called "Honor Lost," written by Norma Kouri, formerly of Jordan. Her Muslim friend was killed for dating a Christian. Kouri makes a point of the fact that, though her family was Christian, the same could have happened to her if she had dated anybody. She said that it's not the religion that fosters this, but the culture.

The Qu'ran teaches Anti-Semiticism and Anti-Christianity. Clearly, the two religions differ. Moreover, Islam paints a picture of a switch happening during the trek to Calvary with Jesus and someone, so that the death of the Prophet would not be emphasized. If they believe Jesus was a prophet, why do they dirty His name? Is it a holy act to dirty the name of any prophet? I believe Jesus to be more than just a prophet. Muslims do not.

Look how far apart catholicism, mormonism and baptists are and they all have the same fundamental belief system at its core.
If small changes in doctrine can create such incredible divides very big fundamental doctrinal create religions that might as well be on different planets.
Most religions have something in common with each other. It isnt the similarities that seperate the religions.

Islam and Christianity are different. Muslims believe that their is one god and he has no son. Christians believe that Jesus is the son of god.
The things they have in common, is that they have a book, they believe in a god (not the same god), and they both have a holy place to go to. Like the church and mosque. I hope this helped!

morganie and Rev nailed it. Wow.
Islam is the categorical denial of Christianity's core beliefs.
Islam seeks to replace Christianity with the teachings of Mohammad. They say they love all prophets "equally" but they don't start riots and murder Christians when someone says something bad about Jesus.

Don't judge others if only a hearsay, read in magazines or watch in tv.Everything that is happening has a reason which we don't know, especially if we don't have a long personal experience with them."Respect others if you want to be respect in return".You don't have to like them, just show respect. Above all, thruth will prevail on the judgement day!
