I could only see the second photo, but your dog does look purebred. The stop is visible, the occiput and muzzle looks good, his feet look correctly shaped, and he doesn't have his full coat yet. Just like in Labradors, there is a huge difference in English and American varieties. English varieties tend to be breed standard, are bred for conformation as well field work. American varieties tend to be thinner with snipey-er muzzles than English ones, because hunters wanted a light-weight dog in the field. I would agree, pet store employees are either a wealth of information or worthless. And your dog is very handsome! : )

Looking at the pictures it is hard to tell if the dog is suppose to be sable or black with very light tan? If you want an honest answer, No, the dog is not of show quality. The Head and muzzle on the dog are not to standard. If the dog is suppose to be black and tan, the tan is way to light. The tan should be a rich tan, not an almost white (looking at the one leg you see some tan.. but not through out the dog) if the dog is sable, then the tan should be more of a silver (i guess depending on the color able it is.. silver? Black?)
The quality of the pictures is not that great, but that is from what i can see and tell.

Without paperwork telling of the OFA, CERF, and Vetgen results for genetic testing of the parents, we can't really determine if the dog is well bred. I can see he is not show quality, and not breeding quality, but the dog's quality of breeding tells more in the health, longevity, and temperament. If he's a healthy, mentally stable companion, be sure he is neutered and enjoy him. If you want to get into quality dogs, learn aobut the breed, and possibly show and breed yourself, get in touch with the national breed club and ask for a mentor. They can teach you more hands on than anyone on YA could think of teaching you over the internet.

You cannot tell by a picture if a dog was "bred good" as you so quaintly put it. You need to look up breed standards for german shepherds and compare your dog to those. You also need to look back on the dogs pedigree and see the lines it comes from, are they working stock or show stock, are they champions, etc.... Were the parents of your dog OFA certified against genetic defects CERF hip health certified as well? Why do you want to know if your dog was "bred good?" If it is for breeding purposes then unless you have a 4 generation pedigree, your dog meets breed standards in both temperament and form, the parents grandparents and your dog and its partner themselves have all been OFA & CERF certified you should not breed. That is minimum requirements your dog should meet.
If you are asking because you want to show your dog you should really talk to someone who shows there dogs and get their opinion, if you are asking just because you want to know for the hell of it then it doesnt really matter. Your dog is pretty and as long as he is sweet and you love him then that is all that matters.

Since 99% of dogs are not the best bred dogs, odds are good that yours is just a pet quality. If you did not get this dog from a breeder that told you it was a show quality dog, then it most likely is not.

Hard to tell from such a bad picture of the dog but she doesn't look like a particularly good representative of a GSD. It isn't always easy to tell about a dog being 'well bred' or not particularly when the dog isn't properly photographed but also because even in the best bred litters there are lesser quality animals that need to be sold on spay/neuter basis. She looks like a nice pet and that is what she is so I wouldn't worry about it as long as she isn't being used to make puppies. She isn't of a quality that would be considered breed quality at all but that won't make her any less of a loving companion as long as her temperament is stable and her health is good.

Looks a bit short for the breed standard, but other than that, he's a good lookin' Shepherd, based on the photo. Hope his hips are good!
