Why do some people say this and then go on to state how other religions are false? If all things are possible, isn't it possible that things that seem impossible or improbable could actually be?

Wow. Hold the hostility. I never said I was quoting scripture. I said I was quoting what other people say. And I'm guessing the scripture reference they are (mis)quoting is Luke 1:37

Actually notfooled, I am wearing the witches hat because I thought it would be cute for halloween. I happen to be a Christian as a matter of fact. I was trying to make a point here that we should open our minds a little bit. You seem to be way too judgmental to consider that possibility.

The people you are quoting are misquoting. I am not being "hostile", just correcting what others forget to say.
Quote the whole verse. "All things are possible to those who believe".
What are you willing to believe God for?
However, the bible tells us some things that cannot happen.
God cannot lie
God cannot hate
You can't earn your way to heaven (it is a free gift)
You cannot please God in your own strength.
Christians won't try to believe these things so the verse is not contradicted.
You are correct in some respects. Many people tell me that healings, miracles, speaking tongues, raising the dead etc is not for today. They say these things ceased with the apostles. BUT these things are happening today. The "all things" in this verse are real.
However when we look at what others believe we MUST see what the bible says about them. If the bible says "yes"then it is yes.........
I have just read some more answers. I am sorry that some who call themselves "Christians" are acting anything but like Jesus. He loves you and we should be showing the same to you. Please accept my apology.

It says that all things are "possible". Any thing IS possible, but probable, no. Something being possible, doesn't mean that it is automatic. Through God ALL things are possible, but that doesn't mean that every thing we want will be done, only that it is possible. And I haven't ever stated that any bodies religion is false. I live by faith, not religion. Religion is just a group of people that have the same type of belief. And Christianity fits the way I believe better than any other religion. But I never said that it makes their religion false, only that I don't believe the way they do.

All things are Possible through GOD only.
Satan has a lot of false religions out there, Its hard to find the true religion, you have to be called by God the Father. With out God help, and faith, Things are impossible. You have to repent, believe in Jesus, that Jesus is your high priest, and through Jesus you are able to ask God for what ever you want and need, and He will give it to you, you have the faith to know God can and will do it. Nothing is impossible with God; its with out Him, where impossible come in. God has said ":with a little faith the size of a mustard seed, you could move a mountain.

God does not deal in absurdities like manufacturing non entities (square circles and rocks He can't lift); neither would He provide a man with power to tempt Him when He can not be tempted. That which can tempt God in this sense of the word does not exist. The other standard meaning of the middle English word "tempt" is "put to the test," and more modern translations handle the word in this sense. The problem is not that God can or can not do thus and so, rather it reveals a problem in the heart of man that desires to "trip God up," or to make Him subservient through the idea that, "If He will demonstrate His power, I will serve Him." God will not be made a performing monkey for anyone.

Yes, with God all things are possible, however, not things that are not true. God is a God of truth. God would not make other religions possible, because then He would contradict Himself in scripture. I am praying that my answer is not hostile. That is not my intention- What this passage of scripture means is that God can do anything through us if we have the faith, it does not make something that God says is untrue, true. Does that help?

Religion is the devil. "Wow. Hold the hostility. I never said I was quoting scripture. I said I was quoting what other people say."
@Gumby - Are you surprised? That's how Christians and other religious fundamentalist act. They did a great job at inviting you to their way of life, huh? Lol! Close-minded people are just going to be close-minded. Any idea contrary to the way they've been conditioned will be tossed into the Lake of Fire. Lol!
RELIGION is the DEVIL! :(

Quest on is not appropriate. GOD IS ALMIGHTY. No body is above him. What ever we do? That is a instruction of GOD. You can't do anything through GOD. Because GOD is not a mediator.GOD is taking works through us. As per Hindu mythology Lord Krishna says in BHAGAVAT GITA that Whatever happens in the word, I do it.You are only the medium.

I'm not religious, but u kinda answered your own question. I think the statement means that through God all things are possible, but without him, they are not, so if He's not in the equation, the impossible is just that: impossible

All things that are within the character of God are possible. God is the truth. So through God the wrong message cannot be right. We have responsibility.
