One stick of butter = 4 oz = 125 mL = 1/2 cup. So, 1/4 of a stick that would be 1/8 cup of butter, and that would be 2 tablespoons.
If you can, check the label to make sure that my assumption of a stick of butter being 4 oz is correct.

One fourth of a "stick" of butter
(which coincidently happens to be
one half of a cup OR 8 tablespoons)
equals 2 tablespoons.

The correct answer is 2 Tbs. in a quarter stick of butter. The ones that answered 4 misread your question and answered for a quarter cup. A stick of butter is 8 Tbs. or a 1/2 cup.

a stick of butter is 1/2 cup of butter. so, 1/4th would be half of the 1/2. there are, like the other people said, 8 tablespoons on a stick of butter. so, your answer is 2... since that's half of a half of a stick of butter. haha i hope you made enough!! looks like there are alot of takers for some yummy cookies! ;P
