I wish I could remember the source, but I've read that people recover from surgery more quickly if they have a habit of praying. It seems that prayer helps the person be calm and hopeful which leaves them with more energy to devote to healing. People who have no one to rely on tend to worry and stress more which delays healing by diverting energy that could be better used to heal.

The articles I've read said that particular faiths were not the issue, merely that the patients prayed.

I have found my faith has been indispensable. I rely on God's love and kindness whenever I or someone I love is in need. I don't always get the answers I would like, but I am always heard and helped by Jesus. Good question!

There are plenty of studies that show that a positive attitude and faith in your recovery helps big time.
