I mean, nuclear physics, or astronomy, geology, chemistry…if one studies and becomes proficient in all these branches of science, then one will discover that they too contradict the bibles explanation for the origins of reality. The thing is, these subjects are a little more advanced and therefore, beyond the reach of most Christians who prefer studying a moldy old book of nonsense stories than the latest advances in understanding our universe. But evolution; living organisms change over time – the more time has passed, the more changes have occurred. Simple, hey? And yet understanding it and accepting it as the truth immediately proves the very first sentence of the bible false.

This goes out to all those "It is just a THEORY! A THEORY isn't a FACT" idiots out there...

Oh... But before that just to let you know... We are only about 3 years away from being able to CREATE LIFE FROM SCRATCH... JUST LIKE GOD supposedly did...

If you read a science journal once and a while and not just your bible you might just understand what all of this really means…

• There is a HUGE difference between the Layman definition of "Theory" and the Definition of “Scientific Theory”.

Gravity is also just a "Theory"

Creationists argue that evolution is "only a theory and cannot be proven."

As used in science, a theory is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning, especially one that has been tested and confirmed as a general principle helping to explain and predict natural phenomena.

Any scientific theory must be based on a careful and rational examination of the facts. A clear distinction needs to be made between facts (things which can be observed and/or measured) and theories (explanations which correlate and interpret the facts.

A fact is something that is supported by unmistakeable evidence. For example, the Grand Canyon cuts through layers of different kinds of rock, such as the Coconino sandstone, Hermit shale, and Redwall limestone. These rock layers often contain fossils that are found only in certain layers. Those are the facts.

It is a fact is that fossil skulls have been found that are intermediate in appearance between humans and modern apes. It is a fact that fossils have been found that are clearly intermediate in appearance between dinosaurs and birds.

Facts may be interpreted in different ways by different individuals, but that doesn't change the facts themselves.

Theories may be good, bad, or indifferent. They may be well established by the factual evidence, or they may lack credibility. Before a theory is given any credence in the scientific community, it must be subjected to "peer review." This means that the proposed theory must be published in a legitimate scientific journal in order to provide the opportunity for other scientists to evaluate the relevant factual information and publish their conclusions.

Creationists refuse to subject their "theories" to peer reviews, because they know they don't fit the facts. The creationist mindset is distorted by the concept of "good science" (creationism) vs. "bad science" (anything not in agreement with creationism). Creation "scientists" are biblical fundamentalists who can not accept anything contrary to their sectarian religioius beliefs.

Learn the Language of Science
Words have precise meanings in science. For example, 'theory', 'law', and 'hypothesis' don't all mean the same thing. Outside of science, you might say something is 'just a theory', meaning it's supposition that may or may not be true. In science, a theory is an explanation that generally is accepted to be true. Here's a closer look at these important, commonly misused terms.
Hypothesis

A hypothesis is an educated guess, based on observation. Usually, a hypothesis can be supported or refuted through experimentation or more observation. A hypothesis can be disproven, but not proven to be true.

Example: If you see no difference in the cleaning ability of various laundry detergents, you might hypothesize that cleaning effectiveness is not affected by which detergent you use. You can see this hypothesis can be disproven if a stain is removed by one detergent and not another. On the other hand, you cannot prove the hypothesis. Even if you never see a difference in the cleanliness of your clothes after trying a thousand detergents, there might be one you haven't tried that could be different.

Theory
A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. A theory is valid as long as there is no evidence to dispute it. Therefore, theories can be disproven. Basically, if evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, then the hypothesis can become accepted as a good explanation of a phenomenon. One definition of a theory is to say it's an accepted hypothesis.

Example: It is known that on June 30, 1908 in Tunguska, Siberia, there was an explosion equivalent to the detonation of about 15 million tons of TNT. Many hypotheses have been proposed for what caused the explosion. It is theorized that the explosion was caused by a natural extraterrestrial phenomenon, and was not caused by man. Is this theory a fact? No. The event is a recorded fact. Is this this theory generally accepted to be true, based on evidence to-date? Yes. Can this theory be shown to be false and be discarded? Yes.

Law
A law generalizes a body of observations. At the time it is made, no exceptions have been found to a law. Scientific laws explain things, but they do not describe them. One way to tell a law and a theory apart is to ask if the description gives you a means to explain 'why'.

Example: Consider Newton's Law of Gravity. Newton could use this law to predict the behavior of a dropped object, but he couldn't explain why it happened.

As you can see, there is no 'proof' or absolute 'truth' in science. The closest we get are facts, which are indisputable observations. Note, however, if you define proof as arriving at a logical conclusion, based on the evidence, then there is 'proof' in science. I work under the definition that to prove something implies it can never be wrong, which is different. If you're asked to define hypothesis, theory, and law, keep in mind the definitions of proof and of these words can vary slightly depending on the scientific discipline. What is important is to realize they don't all mean the same thing and cannot be used interchangeably.

No, that is not true. A child understands the Bible creation story. I think it takes Biology 101 for a person to understand evolution, because they only mention evolution briefly in high school biology classes in the US.

The theory of evolution explains that new species can arise by natural means, without the help of a god. That makes God entirely unnecessary. That is why Christians hate the theory of evolution.

Yes.
GODDIDIT is so simple even a child understands it.
BUT ask them How or Why 'he' did it and you'll get all sortsa speculative 'answers'.

All of their beliefs spring from myths and superstitions put together by some illiterate sand dwellers back before the Bronze Age.
They believe their book (put together by a gaggle of unelected bishops in the late 300s at the behest of Emperor Constantine) holds the truths of the universe.
They FEAR anything that contradicts their book cos they think their imaginary sky chappie might misunderstand them and smote them and send them to hell.
FEAR is the driver of xianity - it's a powerful tool in the hand of master scammers.

Once again it is all a matter of opinion.
Just because scientist are able to find these organisms and see that they are changing, doesn't mean that God did not create them. That is not proof, even for a child. The proof that I would except is if somebody was actually there and saw how the world was created. And that would be God. You can study any moldy old books that you prefer, and I will study my Bible. Isn't life great, I have the right to do that and so do you.

The reason that Christians have reservations about the teaching of evolution is that we simply don’t believe that we are cosmic mistakes; an accident with no purpose or real future.

As for evolution, itself, although it is widely accepted by most scientists, it is still a theory. Scientist used to describe evolution of man in terms of an evolution tree. Now they say it is more like a bush. They are continuously looking for “missing links that will explain all thing evolution.

And if you as an evolutionist, how a mixture of proteins were able to organize themselves into simple cells, how those simple cells were able group themselves into simple organisms, and how those simple organisms were organize thoughts, they are at a loss.

Oh yea, I forgot, evolutionist did answer the question of simple organisms. They are now saying that simple organism came from outer space. Maybe ET even…

It is funny, while you are ridiculing Christians and other religious people; you are deeper and deeper into pop science, making up bigger and bigger lies.

Why, because the truth is you believe it nothing, and you can’t stand that Christians and other religious people to believe in a higher power. Talk about intolerance.

You would think people would also understand what a theory is. Yet they say things like "it is only a theory". How would you expect someone who doesn't know what a theory is to understand the science behind evolution?

As I understand the situation, only the fundamentalists reject evolution. They insist upon a literal interpretation of the bible, but the rest of Christianity, including the Catholic Church, allow evolution and all of science, including the theory of the big bang.

I think the bottom line is you have to look at it from their point of view, although I completly agree with you and really dispise all the horrible things that have happened because of their point of view, what they believe in gives them a meaning to life something that everyone is looking for by offering evidence that their reason for life is wrong they are going to panic and try to disprove it, Imagine the shock you would have to find out that your whole world, reality, reason, and logic was a idea dreamt up by so other beings subconcious. Cuz thats how they feel.

We reject it because it is still a THEORY therefore it is your Opinion against ours. All your so called proof has absolutely nothing to do with evolution and has everything to do with ADAPTATION. Something we all learned about in 3rd grade science class. So you are right it is easy enough for a child to understand it just seems that grown ups have changed the word. Possibly because they didn't have enough proof for evolution and still do not.

Have a blessed day!

Aviator- Theory- Scientific opinion, not yet proven to be fact. Scientific Idea. Meaning of theory and I put it in smaller words so even a "child" could understand it.

Look the Christians are set in their ways, and believe in fairies and speaking in tongues, which is really the work of
the Devil. Me on the other hand believes in Evolution over
The Creation Theory, because to "Create" something you need to have a mould or a genetic plan of how it functions.
Evolution is what happens over millions & millions of years,
the Christians world is only 2,000 years old,so i am led to
believe,so where do they get off telling us that their Flying
Spaghetti Monster is the true Messiah and lord of the Human Race,Homo erectus ( MAN) !!
