There are some PowerPoint clones available but the easiest program is the actual Microsoft PowerPoint. I suggest you either buy Microsoft Office (which has Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) or find a way to download it onto your Mom's computer.
Once you have it, it is pretty easy to learn (I did and I am an IDIOT when it comes to computers).
Good luck to your Mom. She is to be commended for going back to school.

Well, I'm trying to ascertain as to what actually is being asked here.
For her to devise a presentation in PowerPoint, she must have PowerPoint installed as one of her Microsoft Applications, i.e. Office 2000...Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook..and so on.
She can look on EBay for Microsoft Office (XP or 2000 not sure of what platform you have on your PC at home) pretty cheap on EBay though....or go to a computer store and purchase Microsoft Office.
Once she has the application and devises a presentation on your computer she can upload it to a zip drive (mini) and take it to school and download it on their computer...or another way is she can burn it on a CD. (if you have a CD Burner)

I can give you 2 options:
1. Go to a computer shop and make one.
2. You can use OpenOfffice to make a powerpoint resentation file. It's free and you can download it from this site:
http://www.openoffice.org/
it's legal to download this one.

Yes go to www.cnet.com and go to downloads then put in the specifications for the computer that you want power point on and download it to your computer, put it on a disk and start it on the other computer. You should be able to get a free trial there.

To be honest Microsoft pwrpt is a software given to individuals with a license........people do transfer it to other computers, but it is illegal to copy it and give it to someone else to put on their computer.....You might be able to find a friend who is willing to take the risk and give you a copy of the software.
