I don't think they can receive letters in basic training. Just send.

the naval academy is not in chicago, just so you know. You can look up emails. not sure why you'd want to send an actual letter. If it's navy basic and not the academy, then look up great lakes, but best thing is to get it from the family.

Sorry BOB.
The best part of the whole freakin' day was Mail Call.

He's probably at NTC Great Lakes.
The NAVAL Academy is at Annapolis, Maryland

Good luck and tell him to stay Squared Away!

if he is in Chicago he is in Boot Camp, not the Academy. the Academy is in Annapolis MD.

unless you know what ship he is in, you will not be able to get an address. there are thousands of Recruits going through there every day, and in order to get any correspondence to him you would need to know a lot of specifics. He would not have gotten an address until he reported anyway. Ask his family, if you know them. otherwise, you must wait until he contacts you..if he does. They have very little free time.. normally just a couple of hours on Sundays to do personal stuff.

as a reply to the first answer - you can get letters in basic, my boyfriends brother wrote here and we wrote back all the time. ask his family, i don't know if there is any other way of getting it. and you can't just send it to "friends name" at "this basic training place" because they each have their own special address. my boyfriend's brothers address took up like 4 lines. but anyways to answer your question, just ask his family or a friend if his for it.

OMG! I live here on the base at Great Lakes. Go to http://www.nsgreatlakes.navy.mil/
This is the website to our base. I hope it is helpful to you. They have info on recruits! He will also have a graduation after he is done with basic training. They have info on this site on when he is to graduate.

Contact his parents. All recruits are required to write them at first, so they would have his address.
Recruits are allowed to get mail... mail call is the highlight of any recruits day, if they get any (I didn't get much, ) I hope you do get it and write him.

there is no way for you to get it unless he gives it to you or someone in his family does. If you know them call them and ask or wait and hopefully he'll mail you.
