I was at my anorexic friend's house yesterday and there was a time where she went to go poop but only very little came out. it also smelled really bad. why does this happen? The smell was awful eventhough it was so little!!!

If you are alive, you poop. The reason why it's small is because her body used as much as it can of the food it received (since she is anorexic, it's not a lot), leaving hardly nothing to poop out. The reason why it smells bad is because her body it burning itself to stay alive, which sets off a distinctive odor. You can also smell this same odor when she farts too.

Physical observation
When anorexia is chronic, numerous physical signs are evident and they include:
- very dry skin which has no fat content
- Dehydrated
- May have abdominal pain and complain of constipation
- Intolerance to cold temperatures
- Emaciated
- Loss of normal hair and development of fine lanugo hair
- Yellow skin
- Deformed nails
- Bite marks on knuckles

When you starve, your body has to absorb the stored energy like fat that is kept in your body in case of starvation...until you have no stored energy left and you die. In this case your "anorexic" friend is pooping because...you know the idea.

not very often , their digestive system is slowed down by the lack of food, so thier feces takes a long time to pass through the digestive tract.This is not good for their health either as the food should be passed and expelled every twenty four hours to maintain health.

maybe cause their body is burning up their muscle and fat as a source of energy because not enough food is coming in. Maybe just like eggs and beans has its affects, so does muscle and fat when your body metabolizes it. HELP your friend out and make her/him understand why its bad!!! the body will SUFFER! talk to other people like parents and doctors seek help for the friend.
