Even though 21 is well into being an adult, it's very hard to date someone that is in a different place in their life. Generally, I'd say someone that is still in that same "bracket" is more relateable as far as where they are, (like up to 26, 27) but if the parties involved don't care any age is cool.

I have one friend that is 24 who always dates men 50+, and she usually loves it, but sometimes it gets weird, and then men she's sleeping with try to be her dad at the same time. Or they'll say something that makes her realize just how old they are...

I worked in a nursing home, and it would be horrible to be 50 or 60 and married to an 80 or 90 year old man. It would make you feel like your life was ending too... I've seen it a few times, it's so strange. I guess if you're not thinking long term like that, then,... once again... whatever! :)

Around 25. As you get older, the age gap can widen. But just remember if you're with someone who is significantly older than you are, then that person will still be older when you're old too. For instance, if you're interested in someone 15 years older, when you're 70 he'll be 85. It becomes a huge gap again because you'll still want to be active and he'll be a very old man. A dear friend of mine is in that situation right now and miserable.

well ive seen alot of girls that date guys that are 20 years older then them. i think thats dumb.. if you want to have a good fun relationship you need to find someone that is close to your age like a few years in either direction so i would say you would look for a guy that is 19 to 24.. at your age you dont want to go too much younger because you migh be loosing some maturity the further in age you go down. you want to think about how say a 30 year old would be around your 20-22 year old friends.. if you think that your friends would feel uncomfortable around someone you are dating because all of his friends are 8 years older then them then he is probably too old for you... you want someone you can hang out with and have fun... really in the long run love is all that matters but even if you love someone and you fell uncomfortable having that person around your friends or your feel uncomfortable around his friends then he is too old for you.. so look for someone that is 19 - 24... and im guessing that because you brought this question to Yahoo Answers that you already had someone in mind.. and if you did evaulate his age and his friends' ages to see how well you will mesh together and see if thats what you want.. and if it is then by all means dont let some question service tell you who to love and who not to love.. im just throwing out some guide lines to help make your choice easier..

you will know in your heart if its the right decision or not.

Good Luck

Since a 21 year old is a offical adult I'd say 40 & lower
I think 40's 50's 60's are when you start calling ppl old.

I'm way old, but I've learned that age is only numbers. It's what you've got to share with each other and the ability to relate.
If your likes and dislikes are totally different, the ability to last the long term are slim once the infatuation phase is over.

25 would be as far up the age scale you'd want to go. Any older and you are on different planets. As you get older yourself the age gap thing isn't quite as bad and you can have a bit more of a difference. But until you've done a bit of living stick to the 4 year maximum.

my grandma always said men mature slower than women so you should look for someone 7-10 yrs older than you so that you are at the same place in life! in my life it has been true so far!!! i met an amazing man and he's 37 and I'm 26. I'm in the settle down mood and he is too! he's done with the partying and running around and ready to grow up
