Saint Paul claims "I lie not!" (Rom 9:1) maybe he is telling the truth about his lying "TO ENHANCE THE GLORY OF GOD".
"If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?" (Rom 3:5-8)
Saint Jerome the author of the Vulgata said "In case of a doubt I always favor the faith"
Jesus lied about his 2nd coming...
Matthew 16:28 - I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
The Jews drop out of Christianity when Jesus didn't deliver the goods. According to the astrologers from the East, Jesus was supposed to be the "Newborn King of the Jews." The very last question the Jews made to Jesus was about delivering the goods! (Acts 1:6-7), but now Jesus is telling them that nobody, but nobody including himself knows when God will send him back! (Mark 13:32)... Today there are televangelists telling you that he is coming soon in 2012 or so.

There are a lot of people who lie and proclaim to believe in God when they know that there is extreme doubt in their minds.

God gets no glory through lies. Look what happened to Abraham. He told those representing Pharaoh that Sarah (who was his wife) was his sister . In fact , this was half truth. She was the daughter of his father ,but not the daughter of his mother(Gen. 20:12). But because he intended to lie , God looked at this episode as a lie.(SIN) Abraham became a curse instead of a blessing. His wife ended up in another man's house and the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house because of it. Nothing good comes from lies.(God gets no glory out of sin).

1) "Thou shall not bear false witness."
2) When you lie, you lose all credibility. Then even if you tell the truth later you won't be believed.
3) Lying does "God" no favors.
4) If your belief can't stand on it's own merit, then it's not worth believing.

The Pharaoh grow to be going against what God had planned. What God places in action no you will end. The midwives have been area of God's plan. Moses grow to be chosen to be the Hebrews' chief by using God. human beings such as you have tried for hundreds of years to locate fault with God and all and sundry of you lost....and you're nonetheless dropping! How's it sense to affix this variety of huge group of losers? LATER: you intend on 'aligning your self with God's plan' yet you detect fault with God's word. hmmmm I see. is clever to me

Lying is a sin. Why would you entertain that at all? We cannot lie for the glory of God, for what glory would God receive if we deceive?

Eusebius said it was. Seems he started the trend. Bishop Eusebius, that great Church propagandist and self-confessed liar-for-god. Openly admitted it was okay to lie if it benefited the church.
