I'm not even going to ask about the 15 year old Black Belt in BJJ.
But, this question is a fine example of misunderstanding what the martial arts are intended for. Like others have said: Be a silent hero and tip off the school and police about this riot. If you can't do that then at least stay as far away from it as possible. Part of the martial arts is learning to resist that primal attraction to violence. Instead, you want to develop an aversion to it so your natural instinct will always be to get you and your loved ones away from danger. Things often get out of control and spectators are commonly injured.
Also consider that just by being there you could be put on some sort of gang list. I experienced this in elementary school and it was on my record through high school. I was only curious to watch.
Do the right thing.

Obviously you don't understand the word "Riot" or you wouldn't even think about rushing into one. There's a big difference between a "Riot" and a "Rumble". A rumble is just a bunch of hotheads going up against another bunch of hotheads in a free for all. A riot is a civil disturbance characterized by chaos and anarchy, where everyone trashes anything and anyone they see as offensive. Only an idiot would wanna charge into a group of rioters alone and empty handed and think he can punch and grapple all of em down and then walk away unscratched. Just stay back, observe and call the cops, it's their job to stop it, not yours, you can help more by giving the police clear information about the riot, the participants, what happened and what started it, so they can apprehend the perpetrators.

Slow it down, first of all, if there is a riot, let the police take care of it. You could be arrested even if you were well intentioned, which you don't want. Its always better to allow professionals who are trained to deal with those kinds of incidents. What if the person has a gun? Or if the person needs medical attention? Sorry tae kwan do, this time, the pros are the only ones who should worry about such incidents. Trust me on this one.

If you suspect there is going to be a riot, then you need to talk to two people:
a) your school principal
b) your local police
You talk to the principal first in order to advise them of the impending event so they can be prepared for it. They may contact law enforcement, in which case you won't have to.
While you're there, ask what your position should be and how they would prefer you respond. This way, everyone in authority will know you are not part of the 'problem'.
It is always a tricky affair to step into a conflict unless you are absolutely sure of your legal, ethical and moral standing. Ask their advice, and abide by it.
Good luck, and thank you for caring enough to ask.

Personally I think you should anonymously notify someone about the riot. Why put yourself in harms way or possibly let other people get hurt, when all you have to do is say something. Plus even if someone did find out you said something, you are more than capable of protecting yourself. Hope I could be of help! :-)

"I'm fifteen a black belt in brazilian jujitsu."
Don't worry about the riot, worry about reporting your Blackbelt in BJJ to the Guinness Book Of World Record!!!!!
either that or get your facts straight.

If you're not a part of it, STAY AWAY FROM IT. If you just so happen to see some one being attacked and you think you can take the other guy, help 'em out. But never underestimate anyone or anything. Always practice Mexican Judo...Judo know if they got a gun, judo know if they got a knife....

Don't start attacking! Only defend your self and make sure nobody else is getting hurt. If they do try to attack someone... don't go to the head immediately. Just hurt them enough to make them show what you got (Like an attack/push to the upper breast) and let them know if they do continue to attack they are going down. So if he does start attacking again... and it's really dangerous, knock him out.. go for the nose (he'll survive that, but faint, and that's what you want!) and get yourself and the people you protect out of danger.
Hope I could help:
and I don't want to quote spider-man, but: "With great power, comes great responsibility" and it sounds like you have power.. so use it to defend yourself and others!
Good luck, oh and riots suck :( I hate fighting but I train so that I don't have to fight.

What'd you get your black belt in BJJ out of a cracker jacks box or something? If you were a black belt in BJJ you'd be at the level of instructor, and if you were at the level of instructor you'd know that any form of martial art is to be used only as a last resort in self defense. This is a stupid question and I can't believe I even let myself stoop to the level of dignifying it with a response.

If its one guy use some jointlocks. But even then, if he has a knife, your dead.
I thought I could win all kinds of fights after getting the Army with 5 years jujitsu. It helped a lot, but it got me "killed" many times when someone pulled a fake knife.
