Proper brushing after every meal should be sufficient to keep your mouth fresh and disease free. My grandfather never used anything but a stiff toothbrush and a mix of equal parts salt and baking soda on his, and when he passed away at age 98, still had a full set of perfect teeth.
If you think you really need something to 'freshen' your breath, try chewing on fresh mint leaves. Just remember to brush afterwards.
There are those who say that using most commercial toothpastes wears down the enamel and provides decay a foothold.
Also, mouthwashes kill the beneficial microorganisms in your mouth along with the bad. And, when you've killed off the 99.9% of the bacteria in your mouth, you are left with the 0.1% that are increasingly resistant to the mouthwash.
Finally, it is questionable if all the flavor and artificial sweeteners in commercial toothpaste are of any benefit or harmful.
If you feel you really need to use comercial products, consider this site for the best dental care products currently manufactured:

Yes, because the mouthrinse helps kill bacteria in the mouth that can cause cavities . You should also brush your tongue because it's the place on your body that has the most bacteria.
