OK so I'm really really obsessed with chocolate. My mom never buys me chocolate because I can't stop eating it. I manage to get it through eating chocolate chip cookies and chocolate ice cream and buying chocolate from vending machines. Most of the nutrition I get during the day is from sweets. For example today I tried to eat as little sweets as I could by substituting it with 3 apples and 1 peach but I still ended up eating:

3 mini bags of cookies
3 kitkats
ice cream
1 bowl cinnamon toast crunch
1 bowl cauliflower and bread
1 sandwich

its making me really frustrated, that i can't stop eating, because it ruins the fruits of my labor. Today I ran a mile and came back and ate a whole bunch of cookies. I'm not fat or anything but if I continue with this eating habit I'll probably never get toned, plus I don't like the idea of eating unnecessary junk. How can I stop??

I can sympathize: I'm a chocoholic too.

You can't do this alone. So get your mom in your corner and ask her not to buy you any more sweets. And that includes those sugary cereals. Also, get a group of your friends in with you to help support you. You might even consider a membership with Curves or Weight Watchers, at least until you are sure you can ignore that chocolate bar.

Try getting more fruits in the house, and carrots for snacks.

Good luck!

First of all it is good that you realize it is bad to eat junk all day! It is also good that you have started substituting fruits for some of the junk and logging what you eat. The cereal is good because of the vitamins and fiber (same w/bread especially if whole grain) but I hope you also take a multivitamin. Try to allow yourself just one candy bar a day (split it up a little if you have to). If you must have cookies, look for healthier recipes and make your own, or try some of the great new products out there (Kashi makes a really good choco chip cookie made w/whole grains). Sometimes I find that being bored or restless makes me feel like eating more - are you keeping busy? Good luck!

stop going in the stores, and ask your mom not to bring any sweets in the house. u have the right idea with the apples and peach. i've had the same problem a while back, one week i would crave snickers so i would buy alot of them in a week and hide them from my kids,in one week i've probably eaten about 25 snickers, and then the next week it would be kitkats, and yeah those delicious cookies, i would eat until i am sick.

i think this may help, make sure u eat a good healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. i've finally gotten over my cravings for sweets, well not completely, now i try and go for the healthier sweets, such as peppermint patties when i'm craving chocolate, and caramel rice cakes, they are delicious and are better for u .

I know what its like so try this:
Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies etc. These are the fat making foods.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.
If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals. If you have to eat something in between have something like small raw carrots or celery sticks.
Summary:
Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast.
Lunch can be a protein drink.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these.
Walking as much as you can.

As a former sugar addict myself, I can tell you that what made me stop is the fact that I was pudgy and it is a lifestyle change you will have to adopt. Like the previous poster said, you just have to exhibit self control and say to yourself, "I don't need this." Trust me, when you see the lbs start dropping you'll be glad and never want to go back to your bad eating habits.

At least, that's how it was with me. Of course, I still allow myself to splurge once a week. You don't have to cut out the sweets altogether, just eat them in moderation.

sugar is like an addictive drug to your body. You need to cleanse your self off of sugar. For example try a juice cleanse wt fresh fruit and vegetables. The first 2-3 days will be really difficult and your body will really crave sugar but after you get it out of your system and see how much better your feel you wont even want it.

This may seem harsh but it is true...just have self control...that is all that you have do. It is hard but it is something that just has to be done.....that is all that there is to it.
