"There are too many correct readings for it to be a coincidence. "
That's false. Sorry.
Unfortunately for you, you chose "Crossing Over" as your example of a true psychic. John Edwards is a fraud.
It's also very significant that you chose a television show as your example of evidence. You claimed that "there are too many correct readings for it to be a coincidence". For you to make that judgment, you have to know not only how many correct readings there were, but also how many incorrect readings there were. If your evidence comes from a television broadcast, you simply do not have the information you need in order to make that judgment: you have no idea how much bad material was edited out to make a watchable show.
Worse, that apparently never occurred to you.

Great, another straw-man argument. Atheists don't say that psychics who claim to communicate with the dead are full of it because there's no God and no heaven.
That said, there's never been a SINGLE psychic who has passed a scientific test of their claims. There are no "hundreds and hundreds" of times that a psychic has hit the nail on the head. In EVERY scientific test of psychic ability, the so-called psychic has failed to come with any result that was better than the statistical odds of guessing.

Try watching Mind Control,he does some really amazing stuff but admits that is is based on pshycology, body language and a bit of showmanship.
To the best of my knowledge there has never been a psychic that has been objectively examined that showed anything remotely resembling psychic power. If you have evidence other than a TV show, feel free to site it.

just cuz ur atheist doesnt mean u dont believe in psychics. in fact almost everybody i know says psychics are full of crap and almost all of them are christian. and the "psychic" couldve gotten the information from another person.
What i believe though is that psychics who contact the dead or stuff like that is fake. Psychics who can actually do amazing things like making predictions that are always true or anything out of the ordinary like that, are just advanced human beings that can fully function the parts of the brain that ordinary people cant controll.

Even if ALL so called psychics were correct, it would not suggest a deity. I have to give you credit, though, it took thought to develop an argument that was both a straw man argument (misrepresenting Atheists) and a red herring (asserting a necessary connection between a deity and claims of psychic ability). What a victory for you!

To my knowledge, in the last couple centuries there have been literally thousands of self-described psychics who have made extraordinary assertions. On closer examination, not one, not even one, has managed to prove their claims. If you actually use television shows as your basis for discovering the truth, you can only become hopelessly deluded. Go to your local library and select a non-fiction book on any subject that interests you. Then turn off your television and actually read something -- an entire book. Then do it again, and again, and again... Cultivate your mind, instead of just filling it with superstitious crap!

I know people who have gone to see the show "Crossing Over", and I can tell you how they get a lot of the information that they use on the show.
#1--When the audience is waiting outside to be seated, they have people walking around listening to the conversations that they're having. They're actually taking notes.
#2--They ASK the audience members before filming starts. Yes, they actually ask them outright who they're hoping to be contacted by, things like that. Then the people are gullible enough that, when Edwards comes out and "knows" the information, they're shocked.
Those are just two ways that they get information out of people for that show. There's other ways on top of that, also.
Don't be gullible enough to buy into those charlatan's nonsense claims. They will RIP YOU OFF.

Although I am a Christian I must mention that it is clearly written in the Bible that such psychics are not of God but of the enemy. Satan and his demons can give information to the person who thinks they are psychic and have such special powers. This is but only one of his tricks and gimmicks to get people involved in talking to the dead and getting information when in fact they are demons. Very clever too.
The dead do not walk the earth or are they summons for God says in death the spirit goes back to the one who gave it . God. He does not allow restless spirits of loved ones or murdered beings to roam around looking for vengences.
Vengence is mine sayth the Lord.

Naw, Christians haven't opened their minds.
So what? Some people predict the future, some don't. Hell, look at history, anyone can tell you a war will break out - find a time in history that it hasn't, for pete's sake.
You are the exact same! You are closed to anything that isn't christian! Why can you not see that?? Look in a mirror and know that your belief is more closed then anyone's because you limited yourself to the Christian Free Press.

Does that mean when you watch the cartoon and read the comic book about the mighty Thor, it shows that Odin and Thor are the true gods?
Or are you nothing but a person who had already made up your mind and are not open to new evidence?
Your argument is flawed.
