Open Easy Share, select a picture, drag & drop it on your desktop.

At least that's how it works for me.

There are many formats that can be shared across different applications, such as jpeg, bmp and others.

Meanwhile, some images can only be viewd in their native format applications, such as when an image has been given layers in Photoshop. These cannot be viewed in MS Paint, for instance because Paint does not support layers. Things like Photoshop paths will not traslate to most other applications except Illustrator, or QuarkXPress. I have an old CorelDRAW version that would not support gif, and CorelDRAW images could not be viewed anywhere else unless converted to bmp or otherwise.

If you need to move your images from your Kodak sofware, just do a "save as" or "export" function to convert to a high resolution jpeg, or bitmap or other format compatible with picasa or whatever you use.
