And yes they do happen, people have been healed of being blind, deaf, lame, and even dead in recent spiritual missions and crusades. Not to mention the little things that happen in hospitals and such everyday.

I will not add any personal testimony for as Jesus said, if you will not believe the miracle of Jonah you will not even believe the raising of the dead.

That is the simple answer it is God. It is the persons faith in God to beleive God can and will do that for them. Miracles come only from God, no one else.

Holly
a miracle is defined as something happening out of the normal. The assumption is miracles do not happen because we are in a closed system, however, i think it was in 1938 we found out that the location of an electron could not be predicted, hense we were not in a closed system.

the knowledge base has only grown. The way to get rid of miracles is to simply ignor the imperical legal evidence of it, which is what most do, explain it away as a non-fact or event, which is what many do, or just say there is not god, what i hear from time to time.

every person who has read your question, everyone that has answered it, has had uncountable miracles in their life. They just pass it off to dumb luck. The difference here?

I took 50 rounds of ammo and spun the cylinder and kept a record of the number of times it fired. the pistol always fired within 3 spins. about half the time it fired on the first spin, about 1/3 of the time it fired on the second, and the rest of the time if fired on the third, there was not a single incident of spinning the cylinder of my pistol 4 times in 50 rounds.

when you consider the number of times something like crossing a busy street and just narrowly dodging a car that runs a light, or not getting hurt at home or at work happens, that is not dumb luck, it is a miracle.

most won't admit it

Please, do show me one of these well-documented cases. I'd really be interested.

Show me one case where a person has radiographic evidence of a severed spinal cord from a broken neck and now has full use of arms and legs.

Show me one case where a person's eyes were destroyed by some accident and is now able to see.

Show me one case where a person with a physically identified and irreversible condition causing hearing loss is now able to hear.

Show me one person who is walking now who was shown to be completely dead; not someone who was in a permanent vegetative state and since recovered, but someone who was certified as dead.

Show me any of this, and I might be inclined to talk to you. If you can't do this, you've really got nothing.

People do go to missions and crusades in wheelchairs and walk away. People do go there as blind and leave able to see. People do go there claiming to not hear and suddenly hear. Do you have any idea how many of these are frauds? I've seen people claim to have been healed, but usually there was no real physical illness; sometimes it was psychological. Some people claiming to have been healed were actually healed in hospitals.

If you wish me to believe you, please show me some documentation. Better yet, why not pray for my dead friend's daughter who was paralyzed in a car accident some time ago. If you pray, and she can walk afterward, I'd be really impressed.

Why not show me any bit of evidence of even one person who lost an arm or leg, and after prayer was blessed with a new arm or leg?

It's been said "put up or shut up". Here's your chance to put up. Show me some real evidence; something that would hold up in a court, and I'll certainly be willing to take a serious look.

Mere claims won't get you far though.

The same way the miracle of FIRE was explained or the miracle of rain. One should remember that throughout history ANY THING that people couldn't really explain was termed a miracle or of or from god(s).

The sciences in many ways are explaining GOD, or at least understanding the UNKNOWN alittle better. Look around your own home for a moment, actually LOOK at all the THINGS that you take for granted or dismiss as mundane, but see it from the eyes of a person from the biblical time period. Hehheeeee you would be a god/ess with all of your wonderous powers at your fingertips.

Ridiculous assertions.
Give me the reappearance of an amputee's missing limb under controlled conditions and I will agree with you. Until then ...
I saw Criss Angel and David Blaine perform miracles. Far better than anything dreamed up by biblical scribblers.
Do you believe in them? Did it really happen?
Many other examples but none of them are restoring sight to the blind and so on. Confidence tricks are easy to pull off on the simple-minded.

Well, some cases of blindess//deafness/lameness are temporary. Or can be fixed. Being dead-well, that could be a coma. People believed that people who were in a coma were dead before. And probably still do, sometimes. Anyways, the answer is science.

You have failed to provide even the slightest shed of evidence of any miracle.

I am a heath care provider and have not seen one medical miracle in 20yrs of practice.

I'm sure you have heard the one about why god never heals amputees. He can cure a headache but not an amputee?

Medical miracles often seem to be exaggerations, spontaneous remission, or the result of medical treatment. A real miracle would be if an amputee re-grew a limb.

Odd, isn't is, how God only has so much power and then it's used up... pity He was low on juice on 9/11 and during the Holocaust... and I guess He was just too pooped to save all the children being abused, raped and/or murdered every year... guess He has His limits!

They are because of God and his Son,people are healed everyday and still people can't see the truth in front of them.

Sometimes the devil will pull the demon of sickness or disease off of a person to give the impression of a miracle. When the person is coming to the full knowledge of the truth, this usually happens. He does this to firmly imbed his false doctrines deeper into a persons belief. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can cure disease and infirmities. Any other way is just the devil working.
