I know that God answers prayers. I know that the answers might not be how I want them answered or when I want them answered. But lately, for the past few months my prayers are not being answered at all. It is really worrying me and things are going wrong. I even pray with another person..."Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Well, do you have hate or unforgiveness in your heart? Do you have any unconfessed sin that you need to be cleansed of? Things like that can hinder your prayers. Always check yourself first. You said it has been a few months. Has something happened in your life that might be the cause? A new person in your life, perhaps? Seemingly meaningless things can have an impact on your prayers, so retrace your steps. If you still aren't finding it, ask God to reveal it to you.

Conversely, it could be an attack. In that case, you need to take authority over the situation and show the bad guy who's boss. Remember, he doesn't have any control over you that you don't give him yourself.

If you want to talk about this further, feel free to email me.

God DOES answer all prayers....yes, no, or wait awhile. When a kid asks his parents for stuff....sometimes the parent knows it would not be good for them, or they might wait to see if this is something the kid REALLY wants.......and would give it to them later.
Also, some prayers are answered "no" because it is the wrong thing asked for. Listen to this...."Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss...." James 4:3
So, be sure to pray the GOD"S WILL be done....you cannot go wrong there.
Another reason that God waits to answer is any unconfessed sin in your life.
I will pray for you to have a closer relationship with God and that He will reveal Himself to you in a way that you can better see.

"I know that God answers prayers."

Well, then you may feel blind sighted when I say that if gods exist, they do not intervene in the natural world. There is no supernatural cause for completely natural events. A divine hand doesn't make sure a child gets to school safely. A school bus powered on diesel with stop signs, speed limits, and a competent driver do.

Faith healers work the same way. As frauds, they will give the person being "healed" three options:

1. They are healed (very rare, and people want to believe it)

2. They are not healed (they did not pray hard enough)

3. They may be healed later (they need to hold out and stay supportive).

Either way the faith healer charlatan wins. Prayer works the same way. Why not work to realize your goals, instead of asking a deity to do it for you? No amputee has ever regrown a limb, and no ruptured appendix has ever lived without surgery.

Hi, It sounds to me like you are feeling a bit of distance from God. I have always been told that if you feel this, it is you who moved, because God does not move away from us, it is us who move away from Him. Sometimes when you know that things are not right, you need to go back to the place where it started to go wrong. What happened at that time? Were you instructed to do something? Did you step away from God? Is there a sin that is seperating you from God that you need to get out of the way? So do some searching, and just sit before the Lord and listen, ask what you need to do to get back to the place where things are right between you and God. It seems to me that this is what you are feeling right now,(that things are not right between you and the Lord) Spend as much time as necessary, pray, repent, listen, praise, listen, listen, and wait upon the Lord, he will hear your prayer and tell you what to do to make things right again. You may have to go back to the spot that you were at several months ago and after you have back tracked you may have to take a different road. Get on the right road, the one that the Lord wants you on and then stay really close to Him so that you don't end up taking a wrong turn again. I think that this happens to everyone at some point in their lives. So go back to that spot and wait upon the Lord. You will get your answer. Because God is always faithful!! I will pray for you also! Just keep the faith. God Bless!

Summer, there may be a reason for this as all things are done, in God's perfect timing, when we are in God's will.

I too, have felt as though the Lord was not hearing my prayers, at different times, in my life! I was wrong! I am older now, and I can look back and see that God said no, plenty times and I could see the wisdom in His answer! The main thing we must remember....He hears all our prayers!

I do not know your prayer needs; however, God does! Include me, in that group of two, when you pray! I will pray for your needs and for His will to be done!

God Bless

Keep praying sister. God does answer our prayers, it may not be the answer you're looking or hoping for, but He does answer our prayers. Be faithful to Him and don't give up.
I'll say a prayer for you also!

God Bless

He does answer prayer, but sometimes in ways we do not expect or like. Other times our prayers are not sincere enough. We just use God as a way of solving all our problems. He wants to solve them, but He also wants to develop a real relationship with us. And prayer is the key in developing a relationship with God if the prayer comes truly from our hearts.

Your prayers are being answered... it's just that the answer might be no... and it might be not yet.

All I can say is that in my life, when I turned from God and had tremendous anger, I kept moving forward. Eventually, a year later, I looked back at the situation that caused me so much pain and realized that God answered my prayers in ways I would have never been able to ask for.

Instead of praying for miracles, pray for peace in your heart and the strength to do God's will. The results won't be what you expect...just trust the path he leads you down.

Keep your faith.

i just taught a bible study on this, but i dont have the notes in front of me.

God always answers our prayers. its either, yes, no or not now.

sometimes we have to look to ourseves and wonder hy we are getting a no answer. where is your heart when you pray? are you demanding things from God like he is a magic genie? or are you praying for what you want, and then accepting Gods will in the answer?

God is our father and like any parent, He is trying to teach us something. make us better people. He knows whats going to happen in the future, we dont. looking back on all the prayres i thought God was not answering, I realise that not only did He answer, but I understand why I got that response from Him.

just because He isnt answering in the way you want Him to doesnt mean hes not answering. Praying also means listening. praying is not just talking. maybe is is trying to answer but you wont be quiet enough to hear Him.

so my advice to you is this:

realise first that He has answered your prayer with a yes, no or not now and figure out what it is.

if its a no or not now, look at your own heart and the way you are coming to Him with your request.

Listen to God, dont just talk when you pray.

Hope this helps :)

He will. Big word in a Christian's life-Patience. I just went through that, too, and called my brother and sister asking 'why?' Even though I knew the answer, that's what they said, 'Patience'. So I just continued to pray and "Let go and Let God". Wasn't long at all my prayers were answered and again I thanked God for His wisdom. I just have to quit being over-anxious about things and relax. I know I am in God's hand. By the way, I'll pray for you, too. He'll answer soon; that's a promise!
