Like in an office environment, it's really quiet, many people are quiet and there are some people who are more outgoing. There are some people who constantly talk throughout the day and there are some people who don't say too much. If you can relate, do you see anything wrong either way?

If I work in a quiet environment, I am less likely to start a conversation. Also, if I don't have to converse in order to get work done, I'm the same way. I shy away from conversations that involve 2 people or more. I like time alone and am more of a listener at work. But outside of work, I'm totally different with family, neighbors, etc. Is there something wrong with me?

There is a time and place for everything. Some people work good in groups, some would rather work alone. Where I work there is much social interaction both in person and by telephone, and the silent communication through computer and Blackberry. I prefer a quiet environment, but I do take a few minutes here and there for a break and/or a meeting at the proverbial water cooler for a short chat. I can't get any work done if I am talking, unless some part of my work requires me to ask someone for some information, or pass some information on to another person. I don't mind groups, but I have studied enough and seen first hand the social dynamics that make up a group. Slackers are unacceptable to me, so I would rather work alone than give someone else credit for my efforts, and I certainly wouldn't want someone to say that I did something that I hadn't, especially if it was done wrong. This is a slight sign of not trusting others, I am aware of it, but I just don't, I trust only myself to get my work done.

Sometimes people just go to work, do their job, and come home. It seems like many people already have enough people in their lives. They are not looking for new friends.
This can be depressing. I guess this is why it is important to have friends outside of work. It certainly would be convenient to be able to meet new friends at work. This is not always the case. Best Wishes
