I think the attitude of respect is what is important. What was your grandfather like? Prim and proper? Or casual and laid back? Let that determine how you'll dress. Unless someone in the family (your grandmother or your parents) has already let you know what they'd prefer. I'm not talking about wearing a sweatshirt & jeans, but for a guy, a nice pair of dark jeans (not all frayed or holey) and a nice button-down shirt would be fine, & maybe a sports coat if it's cold, for a casual look. Or a suit for a dressier look.
It used to be that everybody wore black or dark, subdued colors. Nowadays, a lot of people wear lighter or brighter colors in celebration of the life of the loved one. Some people don't want everybody at their funeral to cry or be sad at their funerals - they just didn't want that. So they have joyful songs, brighter colors and a celebration of the life of the one who has passed on. A lot of people pre-plan their whole funeral - what they want spoken, what songs they want played, everything. They even ask people ahead of time to speak at their funeral.

Wear something that's comfortable and will be presentable in church or wherever it's being held. Greys, blacks, and browns are the better colors to wear. Anything dark, like navy blue or dark green are good as well. No red. Comfortable shoes for all the standing and no sneakers. White is a good color for a shirt. Pay attention to the weather as well so that you aren't freezing.
I'm sorry about your grandfather.

You should wear something nice - a dress, skirt or nice pants - probably in a darker color. Just make sure you're comfortable (especially shoes) because the funeral, burial, etc. can take awhile. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry about your grandfather's passing. Wear whatever you feel is comfortable. Remember, all the eyes will be on the loved one (your grandfather), not you. As long as he looks good, that all that counts.

I'm so sorry.
In my family, which is mostly blue collar people, the men wear suits. If they don't own a suit, they wear a blazer and tie. If they don't own a blazer, they wear a tie and the nicest pants and shirt they own.

Wear a suit, black if you have one. Any dark color will do. Wear a conservative tie. Or ask what everyone else is wearing. It may be more casual. Depends upon the family.
