I think you are referring to the 2ND war in the ring of Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard. The first fight was a slug fest won by Duran. The rematch was a boxing exhibition by Sugar Ray and in the middle of the fight Duran turned his back on Leonard and said "no mas" no more.

Roberto Duran said those famous words when he quit during his rematch with Ray Leonard. But hey, that was in 1981 or some 40 years after WWII.

That is urban legend. Duran never said "No mas". He said something that translates into "This guy won't fight. All he is doing is clowning. This is B.S. I'm outta here". It was his trainer explaining to the ref why Duran walked off that said "No mas" (No more)

I was about to say Max Schmeling, but all he got out was "ouch" before getting butchered by Louis.
