The diet isn't the issue. That dog is in pain---that's why she's sleeping. Red eyes in dogs can indicate glaucoma which is outrageously painful for a dog. have the pressure checked. If the pressure is high, they will try to control it with meds, but I'll cut to the chase---you will more than likely have to remove the eye(s) or euthanize.
Seriously, glaucoma is tragic for a dog.
I am sorry. DO what is right, do not let that animal suffer.

first dog food would be the best. By feeding her what you eat and nothing else there is a good chance she is actually malnourished as she isn't getting the correct nourishment.
I have found that boiled chicken with small cut up pieces of boiled skinnless/boneless chicken breast will help put on weight. But you should also be adding vitamins and minirals for the correct nourishment.
Teh best thing to always have on hand for a chi is a vitamin called Nutrical it is also an appetite inhancer.
She may also have low blood sugar which cold be part of her problem, the nutrical is very good for that but if you don't have for tonight try giving her about a 1/4 teaspoon directly into her mouth, then put about a teaspoon of honey in her water this should keep up the sugar level as long as she is drinking.
Do not give a dog milk they cannot digest it correctly.
as far as her eyes just try to use a cold wash clothe and rinse the eyes also the cold water on the wash clothe may soothe the eyes if they are itchy.
If you need any other help please let me know also please let me know how you make out kathy_decaprio@yahoo.com

First of all, your diet is not a balanced diet for a Chihuahua. Go out and buy a quality dog food pronto.

Milk is not great for her.

Get her a canned food, which will be more palatable for her. You might microwave it for a few seconds to make it smell better. You should also get some NutraCal, which is a supplement. You can get this at Petco. It is high calorie and will give her the calories to gain weight. For the immediate term, try hot dogs. Dog love them and it will get her to eat something. It's not a long term nutritional choice, but it will get her some calories.

Good luck. You are doing the right thing to get her to the vet.

Cows milk isn't good for dogs because it gives them digestive problems, but goats milk is okay. Tonight give her some boiled plain rice with some grilled or boiled chicken. If you don't have that and can't go out then try scrabbled eggs with plain rice or bran flakes.
Try warming a little water, and adding some gravy mix to it then pouring that over the dry food and letting it soak. That's what I did when my pup refused to eat and she loved it. Make sure you let it cool.

Is she a puppy or an adult? She really does need to be eating dog/puppy food. Has she seen the vet lately? She could have worms or may be in the early stage of parvo if she hasn't had her shots. Please keep that appointment with the vet. The sugar or honey or syrup will help if she is hypoglycemic, but the NUTRICAL is the best. Good luck. I hope she will be okay.

He should be okay. He is small, but dogs can eat a lot more than you think. If he starts to act strange (seeming like he is feeling sick, throwing up, gagging, etc) then you should take him to the vet. At the very least, call the vet and see what they think. That's cheaper and will ease your mind!
