Some of the questions (and answers) I read have so much of this net lingo (or text lingo) they almost seem to be in a different language. And then there's this radio ad for a cell phone provider that's spoke in this lingo.

I hate when people talk like this. It shows laziness and I think it's an ineffective means of communication. Maybe it would be ok if it was just in text messages or on-line, but it's starting to creep into other forms of communication.

Do you think it's silly be bothered by this? Should I simply accept it as an inevitable evolution of the English language - or perhaps the start of a new language? Next thing you know we'll start seeing net lingo dictionaries and they'll start teaching it as a foreign language in schools.

Being a teenager and often exposed to such net lingo, I find it annoying only when people begin writing sentences that have no evidence of proper spelling and grammar. The occasional LOL is understandable (it would otherwise be awkward to say "laugh out loud" every time one would supposedly laugh), but "sumthin liek dis" is unacceptable when used in an entire paragraph.

And since the Internet is ever more prominent in popular culture, people are being so accustomed to writing in net lingo that it seeps into their formal written works. I consider myself to have been fortunate to have already developed an affinity with proper spelling before extensively using the Internet.

You could say it is an evolution of the English language, but no matter how much we use the Internet and see this kind of language being used, there are always those who believe in proper language structure. And besides, it's a lot easier to have the actual word in front of you than trying to guess what "RU havN a gr8 vAKshun" means.

I had a dream a couple of months in the past that I used to be using across the barren barren region on a bike. It wasn't only a dream, regardless that, it used to be like truth. A short while into the dream, or must I say nightmare, I noticed a mushroom cloud within the distance. A significant drive got here dashing toward me, and earlier than I knew it the whole lot started to vanish away. I might listen white noise, and it grew louder. I consider I disintegrated within the dreamworld as I awoke huge-eyed. My ears have been ringing, and it took me a couple of seconds to detect I used to be risk-free. I had a headache for the various day, and I used to be worn out from waking up early. My head did not fairly explode, however I bet I used to be beneath plenty of strain on the time for having the sort of dream.

I totally agree and I find it obnoxious! My opinion is that either people do this because they are lazy or are trying to "impress" the rest.
