Recently I tried to get a government job, and could have gotten extra points towards that job, if I had the right paper work showing my honorable discharge from the Army Nat'l Guard. It has been many years, and I can not remember the appropiate name for the paperwork, or where I might be able to obtain this paperwork. The unit I was part of for 11 years is no longer stationed in that city. Please help with any information that you might have. Thanks!

I think you are referring to the DD214. You can obtain a copy of this from the unit where you were last attached.

I hope I've helped.

This link will help. All discharged veterans' personnel records are sent to a National Archives center in St. Louis, MO. That's where yours are sitting.

Ask for a few CERTIFIED TRUE copies of your DD214 or NG equivalent.

Are you refering to your discharge papers DD214? You should contact your local recruiting office, and they can give some advice. More than likely you will have to go through St Louis, MO. Good luck.

Typically the DD Form 214 is discharge paperwork. If you don't have a copy, try contacting your local VA. They get a copy when you are discharged.

DD214 for active duty time, DD220 for guard service, there's a NGB form also. Go thru state personnel. Also call Mo. They'll get you hooked up, or you can go thru VA, but they suck.

Would it be the DD214 or DD213, I know one is for education and the other is for discharge. You can contact the VA. Go to there website www.va.gov so you can find a phone number for you to call.
