Is it worse to have the most awful, frightening dream of your life or to have the best, happiest dream ever... only to wake up and realize it wasn't real?

I don't like either. For instance if I am dreaming that I am with the man of my dreams, (quite litteraly in this instance) or if I find my life at ease then its quite disapointing when I wake up. On the other hand I don't like having frightening dreams because they tend to stick with me the longest. I prefer the confounding dreams that make me think at the end as to why I dreamed them. If I really had to chose I would prefer the frightening dreams because I know they aren't real. I feel worse after a happy dream because my hopes are up and I want it to be real so badly.

I cant remember any of the happy dreams longer than a day so their pretty useless. Frightening dreams i remember for a long while and they're nice memories to have lol, that sounds a little wrong...

In a way frightening dreams are better-I wake up from them happy that they're not real. However, with happy dreams I wake up from them disappointed tha they aren't real and it can set me off in a bad mood.

dreams are just symbols created by the sub-conscious to help you deal with problemsm in your life that you can't or won't deal with in the awake state. bad dreams are created when a person keeps pushing dreams dwon into their sub-conscious repeatedly. after awhile the sub-conscious says ....enough, no more and then the bad dreams start. then it makes it more difficult to figure out what started it all and let the healing begin. the happy dream is when you acknowledge the dream and deal with the symbols immdiately. since you dream in symbols when you wake up the dream is not going to be real because the symbols are only created to help you deal with a problem therefore the dream itself is not real only the meanins if the dreams are real. that's why you need help in interpretering your dreams will help you.

well since they have different meanings sometimes the happy one can be bad, and vice versa. but i'd rather have a frightening one because you know your life is actually better then having a happy one that you knwo will never coem true just to get your hopes up.

I'd rather wake up smiling from a happy dream, than screaming from a nightmare, wouldn't you?
