I would like to hear everyone's opinions about what type of camera I should get.
I want a digital, it needs to have night vision, and it needs to be good quality and everything, but still cheap.
It needs to be affordable!!
And it also needs to be easy to use.
I want to be able to put the pictures I take with it on the computer easily.
Ok thanks everyone(:
Oh, and also, I want to be able to see the picture being taken while I'm taking one of myself, like where I can flip the screen around or whatever.

Check out the Canon cameras, including their PowerShot line. I'm not sure if they have a flip LCD, but as long as you position the camera and check the viewfinder, you'll know where to stand. Their cameras are affordable (you can get one around $180-$200) and the quality is very good.

Edit - Did a little searching, check this out -

it's got the swivel display, and at Pricegrabber you can get it for $210 - -

Sort the results by BottomLinePrice and you'll see it. If the swivel display is really important to you, you may not be able to find anything much cheaper since that's a special feature. If you can do without it, check out the lower-end A series cameras on that Canon page and check pricing on those on Pricegrabber. When I looked just now, they're coming up between $100 - $163.

I think Opal has given a very good answer.

If by "night vision" you mean you want a camera capable of taking photos of the city skyline at night then you'll need a camera more like the Canon G9. To successfully take night photos your camera will have to be in Manual Mode and you'll have to set everything yourself. If this is what you meant you may email me for more details about night photography.

You can find Nikon and Canon 35 mm SLR's with standard zoom lenses for under $150 at craigslist or on your schools bulletin board. If you stick with Nikon or Canon, you will someday be able to use the lenses from your class on a Nikon or Canon DSLR.

anything with 3-5 mega pixels is good. After that the photos don't get much better. Usually camera's come with the usb port. But you can get a scan disk reader for it that makes it much easier, plus you dont have to waste battery power uploading pics.
