I have a beautiful white umbrella cockatoo, her name is Georgie and she talks up a storm, although I didn't teach her to talk it was her idea & still is. I mean I have tried to encourage her to say certian things but she only says what she wants, when she wants.

Why does everyone forget about the eclectus parrot???

Those who don't believe that check this out:

They have the same talking ability as african greys BUT I hope that's not the reason you want a parrot....There's more to parrots than talking.

not only parrots talk. Mynas, crows, ravens, mockingbirds all talk, mynas are probably the best, even learning more vocabulary than most grey's and amazons. and for all those that claim parakeets talk, are you talking about the quaker parakeets, alexandrine parakeets, and ringneck parakeets, or the more typical 'budgie' parakeet. I have never, ever seen a budgie parakeet talk, I would love to see a utube video of a parakeet talking.....

well... there alot of birds that can learn to talk, but you need to teach them which is the hard part. Macaws, Cacatoos, African Grey and most big birds. If you dont want a big bird the Quaker parrot is a good choice... thats wat i have and i love her with all my hart! they can allso talk, but mine doesnt talk yet. it takes a while to teach them... it took me 5 years to teach my bird to say hello... she only said it once...
