drugs are bad for you because they break down your bodies natural deffinces. they also can cause you to do things you would never do when you are not on them. they shorten your life and can cause others to loose theirs.
the only good things about drugs is when they are being used as proscibed by a doctor.

Well some bad things could be, you began to depend on drugs, and make them your idol, by doing this your disobeying God which is wrong. Other things is this can effect your friends/family/anyone close to you, you become stoned all the time, they can have adverse effects on you such as make you mean and hateful or horny 24/7. Many many bad things about drugs.

Good things, if you have cancer Marijuana can be good for you, because it takes the pain away from cancer however it still can have bad effects. I would say the only good thing that can come from drugs, has to do with a medical condition, anything other than that, is bad.

Drugs cause gang wars/fights/murders/thefts/poverty/addiction....This list is endless it would take me months to figure out half the things drugs can do to your body....If you wonder about how gang wars effect your body, think how your body will be after someone stomps you into the ground and steals your drugs.... theres the effect... happened to my cousin its a horrible thing. Nothing good really comes from drugs.

Drugs are truly a lot of fun, and that is the only benefit. It's fun, and no amount of Christian spin is going to change that. There are problems with drugs though. Drugs are addictive. You may not have the money to buy more drugs, but you will find some money somehow because you are addicted. Therefore, you can't save to buy a home or keep your car nice. Also, drugs are unhealthy. They can cause psychological problems, or it can be simpler problems than that. Smoking marijuana cuts down on your lung capacity just like smoking cigarettes. It's not good for athletes.

Good luck, and don't do drugs if you can avoid them.

The real answer here is that certian drugs even though they are prescription drugs can be benificial for certian health problems can be just as damaging because of there after effects.
The ellicid drugs or street drugs are a different matter all together.
Depending on the specific drug that runs the gammot from Mairjuana, to the hundreds of different speed's out there,
Bennie's
Cocaine
Crystal Meth
All, I repeat All can be devistating to anyone that comes in contact with them.
Most users of these drugs are unaware untill it is to late that them using drugs affect everyone they come in contact with.
Drugs in one form or another have been with mankind since the beggining and will be obtainable when we are dead and gone.
Illicid drugs and there effect on our population will be the ruination of this country, from the top to the bottom, it's closer right now than we here about. It ruins millions of lives every year.

In the first place, many drugs are medicines. The very same drugs can also be toxic if taken in the wrong dose. Even something as common as Tylenol can cause severe liver damage (and death) if one swallows an entire bottle of it. Valuable antibiotics like Ampicillin can cause deafness and kidney failure, even in therapeutic doses. Drugs not only keep people alive, but many drugs also relieve chronic pain and chronic depression.
As for drugs fundamentalist Christians don't like, such as marijuana, it is true that it is addicting, and causes panic attacks in some people. However, it is also the best appetite stimulant around, and could be very useful for chemotherapy patients and even for anorexics. Even dangerously addictive drugs like Morphine are useful. Alcohol too is a toxin in large amounts, but ingredients in red wine help to regulate bad cholesterol, and in many parts of the world where tropical parasites abound in the water, beer is a safer drink. The whole subject is complex enough to get a doctorate in, which is what pharmacists do.

Drugs are not "Good" for your body. They don't contain vitamins or minerals or anything that help you.

Marijuana- Bad for you *slightly,* not bad enough that you shouldn't use it if you enjoy it. No *brain damage* or cancer.

Shrooms- Not bad for you unless you have an overactive imagination and throw yourself over a cliff... No bodily harm, but can be confused with poisonous mushrooms.

Heroin- Destroys you. 'Nuff said.

Meth amphetamine- See Heroine, above. Not sure specifically how.

If it is for a Christian ethics class, the premise is that God gave you this body, and you need to respect it, as it is holy. It is a representation of Gods' image, and vandalizing it (Drugs, drinking too much, tattoos, excessive jewelry, etc) is a sin against God, defaming his work.

Good luck with the assignment, now I have to work on mine. A pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 50 AD.

To Hockeedu;

Expensive, like cocaine does not unnecessarily mean worse than cheap ones. Heroine is expensive and kills, so does coke.

Every try ecstasy? I can find it 2 dollars a pill. It kills, so I don't take or sell it.

Cheap doesn't mean not harmful.

drugs can cure, control, or relieve symptoms and pain. Used properly, they contribute to health and well being. A drug, like alcohol is a great social
relaxing substance, used properly it is a good recreation drug. It is also used for medicinal purposes, for the heart and circulation.
They can be used for recreation ,which can be a bad thing.
Drugs cost money. They create crime as people try to get money to pay for their drugs.
People lose incentive to work and contribute.
Drugs have been used to deceive others into doing things they would not normally do.
Drugs kill by accident, or taken deliberately to end life.
abused drugs cause many health problems. Alcohol is the most abused of all the drugs. Legal drugs are abused more than any illegal drug. In Utah, for example, Valium is overly prescribed. In other states, diet pills and pain pills lead the list of legal drugs abused by doctors and others.

Your question is really ambiguous, and requires a response that, hopefully can resolve. what are acceptable, and non acceptable drugs. How are these values to be defined.? Culturally, ethnically, religiously, personally? Without the development of pharmaceuticals that provide a resource that will result in the elimination of a disease that seriously threatens the likelihood for the continuance of ones life, is unknown. Legally accepted drugs are responsible for addiction as well as drugs defined as illegal. I see no reason for anyone to indulge in the use of cocaine, methamphetamine, Ecstasy, heroine, or any other drug without a legitimate need. None of the above qualify. Drugs provide the relief of pain, they act as a substance that will provide a method to intercede individual mental aberancies, as a substance used to eliminate cancers, infections, and a long list of physical disorders that affect the quality of individual life. So. Tag, your it.

It is a good question. The only thing is do many people know the answer. To give an accurate answer any participants would surely need to have background knowledge. When you say drugs are you targeting illegal or medical. From your religious back ground I would assume illegal.have you finalised your question.Perhaps you have time to hone it before going any further.Maybe you should word it as to what people perceive to be the good and the bad about drugs.
