Why is this different from the brat who pulls the legs off flies to see what happens when they fly away and try to land?

I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT ME! I'M FINE! If anything god should be making me, a complete atheist, miserable and not people who don't consider things either way but do no harm and don't deserve the kind of suffering they get.

Aw Linda, you're sweet (and mighty judgmental!). I don't eat meat, I don't smack my children, I recycle obsessively and am not miserable. Try harder.

To be honest, I really don't see the difference between God and the brat.

To make sure our faith is enough to keep us steady. These tests are allowed by God, and who said the rain doesn't fall on the good and the bad? Or that the sun doesn't shine on the good and the bad?
It's ridiculous to assume that all bad things that happen to good people are caused by God. The opposite can also be true. Many things that happen to people are because of wrong choices, others are completely random and out of our control.
Righteous believers in God have the Blessed Hope that there is something better than all of this afterward. At the end of the line there will only be two groups...those who choose God, and those who do not choose God. By their fruits they will be known...Righteous believers have the faith to look forward to. So why not start having that peace of mind and learn the true Way before the End comes?

I don't really believe that God tests people. I know christians believe this but personally I feel that is just a convenient way of shuffing off responcibilty for their own actions. I think that the trials we go thru are simply our higher self presenting itself in various ways to allow us to right our wrongs make those wrongs into good. Karma so to speak. Everything we encounter is a direct result of something we have done during some time of our live(s).

God does it for his "good pleasure" -- It is written throughout the Bible... In fact he laughs at human suffering! Why do you think that he created a sulfuric burning Hell to torment for ever and ever the vast majority of the human race that he loves so much?

Job 9:23 When a scourge brings sudden death, he mocks the despair of the innocent.

Job 42:11 (KJV) Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over ALL THE EVIL that the LORD had brought upon him:

I'm assuming that you don't believe in God, so what does it matter to you anyway? If there is no God, then chance, fate or yourself are making your life miserable. If you want God's point of view here it is:

We are all sinners, every single one of us, with no exception, and the reason why we sin is because we want to do things our way, because we don't trust God and we think we know better. God sometimes makes His people go through trials and tribulations so that we may know that we are NOTHING, and then we can accept His love, the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins, and that way He makes us NEW creatures...not miserable anymore, whatever the circumstances are.

Who says its god? Does god REALLY control everything in the universe?
And if so why would he allow for things like sicknesses, murder, pain and miserable things like that? I believe that if there is a creator he/she/it either created the human world simply to watch it, or to "play" with some peoples lives, or he only does good.
Ever play The Sims? A player can ruin the Sims life and make them miserable or make their life perfect.

It all depends on what YOU believe in I suppose

God lets me feel miserable when I doubt Gods love for me.

Without faith it is impossible to please God for those who come to God must beleive that God Is & is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

It is written for parents to not provoke their children to wrath or rebellion. So? Why would God do that to us?

If someone feels miserable, it is usally because they are believing the devils lies & the devil is oppressing them or they disobeyed God & God is disciplining them.

What happens when one turns a fly into a bug?
People do a lot of mean things to Gods creation. The wrath of God is going to be poured out on those who destroy Gods creation & who murder Gods people.

There is no comparison with the bug story. Mankind or the devil torture an innocent, not God. Jesus showed us mankinds worst sins when He suffered the cross. When mankind will torture to death an innocent person.

Also, God never tempts anyone to sin or rebell against God. Because God is Good. It is the devil who tempts our flesh to sin.

Misery is a human choice as is suffering, for circumstances are circumstances and happenings are happenings, all created by human choice, as our past choices create our present, and our present outlook creates our future.

The point of power is for our choosing, in the present moment, whether we choose to see it as a slap or as a push, a block or as an act of saving out of grace. As we see so we create.

Most of the time, a 'No' means - it’s not good for you or not right now.

Dear Sir,

First things first.... Quoted from the Holy Bible found at James 1 verse 13 " When under trial, let no man say: "I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." Verse 14 goes on to say, "But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. So see it is not God, it is our own desire when enticed gives birth to sin... We can fight sin, but it is not easy... Nothing worth having EVER comes easy...

I think you are being a tad judgemental... You answered a post of mine, with real crassiness... I followed the link to see if you were some kind of saint or something...

If you are not miserable, and if you are accusing someone else of being judgemental ,yet you think you were not to me, does that not sound like quite the hypocrit on your part?

I am open to listening, I am open to change for the better... I do lots of things good... The list could get pretty long... However, I see in me the tendancy of when I try especially hard to please God out of the goodness of my heart, I get hit hard with tests...

Just because I am making it my aim to please God, does not mean, I will in this time ever be perfect... I know that... And too, it does not make a Believer of Christ and God, ammune to the things Satan throws my way ....

If you are not angry, kind Sir, you do come across this way, and a bit with the desire to be "God like", yourself... Hautiness, never got me any where good...

I am not being sarcastic, I am excersing my right to free speech... Just as you did... Forgive me please if you take this wrong... That is not my intention...

I will continue to fight my battles with Gods view in mind... And I hope your heart one day becomes softened to what we are all dealing with in one way or another....

Sincerely Me♥

P.S. Please excuse any grammatical errors... My tears kind of got in my way...

God allows certain things in peoples lives to draw them closer to Him. Not knowing the situation, I also think that people often make decisions in life that make themselves miserable because they are experiencing the consequences of lousy decisions, or people take advantage of or otherwise abuse each other out of some selfish motive. IMO those are the two largest sources of pain in life. Other than that, our bodies are fallen so they get sick and die. We were never intended to get sick and die.

All that said, you really asked a huge question that involves a lot more than an answer on Yahoo Answers, or you meant it as rhetorical and it won't matter what anyone says to you anyway.

All the best in your search

Think back to a time in your life where you were very misrable,

Maybe you deside to leave your home town, for the big city, because your so misrable, long story short, you find your calling. Would you really be the person you are today without those hard times?
