I recently purchased a LG 42LC7D Televition and would like to calibrate it to get the best performace. It will be connected to a basic media center threw a DVI port (using a DVI to HDMI cable. The resolution on the computer has been set to 1366 x 768. Are there any advanced hidden menus that allow extra, or more precise settings?

I am sure there are, but without proper colorimetry equipment will not be much help to you anyhow.

Use the Media Center TV calibration menus to properly adjust contrast, brightness, and color, and that should give you a pretty good picture.
