after filing an application should i contact that employer every day by phone?

No, after the interview sit down and write the company a thank you note for granting you the interview. And then follow though with a phone call in two days.

No. Calling them every day would just irritate them. But following up in a few days, or maybe a week, and asking if they've reviewed your application and if they'll be scheduling an interview would be fine.
