The term you are looking for is General Practitioner. Whether or not he/she makes more than a dentist I don't know. It would probably depend on where you are working.

If they see both kids and adults, they're called a Family Practitioner. Pediatricians see children only. Internists or General Practitioners see adults only - most won't see anyone under the age of 16 because adult medicine is different from pediatric medicine.

As far as who makes more. I'm going to say a dental specialist - like an orthodonist. Primary care physicians - which all of the ones I mentioned above - are generally the lowest on the HMO totem pole and make the least money per patient. Surgeons and radiologists made the most. (But they also have the highest malpractice insurance rates.)

If it's children and adults, it's a General Practice Physician.

If it's kids only, it's a Pediatrician.

Physicans tend to make more than Dentists.

I would guess that the dentist makes more money because I havent been to the dentist in about 10 yrs cause I cant afford dental insurance and I know a lot of people like that.

These docs are called different names like primary care physicians, family practice physicians and general practice physicians. Internal medicine is a subspeciality many of them have.

All physicians are squeezed, but dentists seem to be making big bucks these days, probably because they usually aren't tied entirely into insurance contracts which limit their charges.

They may use a couple of titles, Family Care Physician, Family care provider, General Practice etc.
Who makes more depends how many patients they treat etc.
