The utter lack of evidence for the existence of a deity is enough to convince me not to believe in same.

It's simple. All people love to sin and God hates sin. We just do not want to know about anything that speaks of us being eventually held accountable for our actions. Jesus said the following in John 3:19-21

"19:And this is the condemnation, that the light (Jesus) has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20:For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come into the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21:But he who does the truth comes into the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God"

Being human, facing life and all the challenges, watching the news. All the evil that exists this side of heaven,I think people are really just very hurt in this life and they just have such a hard time believing that if God exists he would stop all the insanity. What they fail to see is God gives us free will,we can choose often what happens in our lives, our words are so powerful. We plant seeds in our lives then we blame God for not protecting us.Shalom

The illogical ideas and arguments often associated with the theism
The use of theism to justify war and swindle people out of their money

Everyday woes (like what happens to good and innocent people), lack of evidence, (like someone else said), basically I think there is a God, but he's NEUTRAL and INDIFFERENT. A Source or Force in the universe, if you will.

Reading, thinking and education. Look for the evidence - there isn't any. Ask yourself this (it is not my argument, it has been asked by others). There are more than 2500 named gods who have been worshipped at one time or another by humans. You reject all of them but one. I reject all of them. You explain your atheism towards all the others and you will understand why I go one god further.

I'm provoked because there's no proof that God exists.
