The name? There was no name for the man who died next to Jesus. But Jesus simply looked over at him and stated he would remember the sinner from that moment on because of his belief.

Matthew 27:38 says there were two thieves, both unnamed.
Mark 15: 27 also says two thieves, both unnamed.
Luke 23:39-40 calls them two malefactors.
John 19:18 says there were two others.
I do have a dim memory that the thief whom Jesus blessed was eventually canonized. I think we need the help of a knowledgeable Catholic to answer your question.
