The Asians, and in particular the Japanese, have a different culture than the US. With so much coast line, especially for South Korea and Japan, it's only natural that they got into fish. They found out raw was really good. Americans, for some strange reason, have an aversion to raw things and to spicy things, too. Both are terrific if you give them a chance. Honest.
