If you do not want them to require an i.d. then you obviously are underage. Any tattoo artist who willingly inks someone without knowing their accurate age faces some pretty serious penalties, not only that you could lose your life under their hands.
Any parlor that ignores the law, is unclean, unsafe, unsanitary, and probably not licensed in the State of New York or any other state in this country for that matter...
If you are thinking of getting a tattoo, and since you asked this kind of question, you are underage, an adult would know better, and have enough common sense to not ask a question nor inquire such idiotic revelries.
DO NOT GET A TATTOO!
Now I have tattoos, I love them, but I am an adult, I have legal proof to prove such, and I have gotten them in safe, law abiding tattoo shops, even my first one done by a friend, was in a sanitary portion of his home, he is licensed, and it was very safe, very clean, and very appropriate.
You apparently can not get consent from your parents to go to law abiding parlor, so take a hint from any tattooed and tattooer, do not get one, you will regret your decision, not only that you might wind your *** up grounded, without certain privileges you LOVE! ie cell phone, i pod, computer, friends, car, much more...
Tattoos are permanent, and should not be taken lightly, they are not something for trends, fads, or to make yourself cool, tough, rough, sexy, or whatever you want to be... Tattoos are and will always be an expression of art, you have to know art and the rules behind art to appreciate it's beauty...
Not only that, you are scarring your skin, blood is involved, needles, ink being placed underneath your skin, to stay until you die...
If you went and got tattooed by an amateur without a license, someone who has no respect for the law nor the person(s) who he tattoos, you are risking infection, illness, disease, amputation, and even death. You are also risking your own legal welfare... You and the person tattooing can get in some serious legal issues. He or she would be places in prison more than likely for inflicting physical changes on a minor without consent of their parent or guardian, for scarring the skin of a minor which can be considered manslaughter, for ignoring the state's statutes and ordinances concerning tattooing and tattoo parlors, and many many many other crimes. You yourself, would be charged with some juvenile stuff, but nonetheless, you would be in trouble, for provoking an adult to preform a lewd act of desecration upon your body (yes this is a crime)... Are you ready for that kind of permanent commitment... I doubt it...

If an artist doesn't require an ID then s/he is not reputable and I would not want that person putting anything permanent on my body.
A tattoo is well worth the wait of being the legal age for.

all tattoo parlors require id. i believe it is illegal to get a tattoo in a parlor with out legal identification .its so that they know your of legal age. the last thing a parlor wants is to tattoo a minor without parental concent. best thing to do is get an id, or wait until your old enough.

yes... the one that will give you hepatitis c. seriously. if you aren't old enough to get tattooed or pierced then you should just wait because if the business doesn't care enough about the law of not altering minors do you think they really care about the laws that are in place for using new needles and sterile equipment? what do they care if you get hep or some other God awful disease?
wait.

Chances are if they don't require ID, they're not that great of a place. I wouldn't trust your skin to a shop that is shady. If you're not of age, I'd wait until you are so you can go to a great shop and end up with a great tattoo. Not some crappy dive place and end up with hepetitis. :)

Most tattoo/piercing shops that don't require ID also don't follow sanitation and sterilisation standards. Talk it over with your parents; maybe they'll be reasonable and let you get whatever you want done.

If they don't require ID, then trust me, you don't want to go there. If you aren't old enough yet, just be patient. It's worth it. You don't need a piercing right this instant, and whatever you want to pierce isn't going to dissapear when you're old enough to get it done.
