I woke up on Thursday with a light rash on my face. By Saturday morning it really flared up to the point I looked like I'd been in a fight. My eyes were quite swollen. As the day went on it seems like it went down but now it's swelling up my eyes and my cheeks and it's really starting to peel. I went out today and the sun actually burnt my face. I've tried to put moisturisers on my face so stop it drying out but everything I put on it makes it sting...EVEN PLAIN WATER!!! My friends and family think I've eaten something I'm allergic to but I can't think of what it may be. Does this sound familiar to you? I am going to see my doctor but getting an appointment is sometimes diffiuclt. What can I use that won't sting my face?

Hi It could be anything you have touched ate or used on your skin, instead of waiting for the doctor why not go to the A&E as if your symtoms are getting worse then you might need treatment asap, Its sounds like something has burnt your skin as you have said its burning, If you find out what it is please let us know how you get on try and not put anything on the skin as it could make it worse

Please go and see your doctor while you still have this rash on your face. It may just be an allergic reaction to a cream or soap that you have used or a reaction to something that you have eaten. I have Lupus and I sometimes get what is called a butterfly rash across my nose and cheeks which is made worse by going out into the sun. Please go to your doctors and let us know how you get on. Good luck.

If it is an allergic reaction, the best thing to use till you get to see the Dr. is Benadryl...or a generic equivalent. If you go to the Dr and he tells you it's something like eczema instead. Please contact me by email for info on a safer alternative instead of the steroid cream the Dr. will prescribe for you.

Good Luck.

okay, my friend had something simular to that, she kept trying to put stuff like lotion, and water, she even tryed to put rubbing medicine (alchohol) on it...don't do that, if you think water hurts....no idea.... well she started to use some type of antibiotic cream, and she used some alovero when she went to sleep...maybe this will help...but if you are allergic to something, does you throat and/or tounge hurt, if you ate something bad then your throat would be red/swollen/or something else...if you put something on your face then you would have an affect to your face...that's what i think happened to you....but any medicine you use isn't going to feel all that great the first few times, you need to get use to it first....why do you think it hurts so much when you put rubbing alchohol on a new cut...? well good luck...

Sweetie, sounds like you are allergic to something. It can be something like MSG. Go to the Dr. they'll probably give you some benadril, and they have benadril cream that I would try until you get it confirmed with the professionals.. Hope it gets better soon.

You might try a dermatologist. They specialize in diseases of the skin. They are listed under physicians and surgeons. Incidentally, do you have any skin piercings?
