I've never had a digital camera before... But in the past I've always used a old camera that was like all metal and plastic.... But now I got a digital camera (Sony cyber shot DSC-T5) anyway I use to use my old camera all the time in the rain and there was no problem, but now I'm wondering if I can still shoot in rain (I mean light rain, not like a heavy storm) so do you think it is ok to be out and about in the rain taking pictures with this camera? Or do you think if the camera gets wet it all it will be ruined?

Why get your camera wet? Cover it with something. You can still shoot in light rain, but keep it covered....protect it. And I would have said same thing for old 35mm slrs.

the digital camera will genuinely get ruined if out too long (or long sufficient!) interior the rain....till this is WATER info,,,and this is basically water-resistant if it says so on the field you acquire it...in any different case, be careful, cuz water will harm it! ^_^
