it makes me sad. i am only 16 so i guess i am still a child... but when i was 11 i developed anorexia. i went through so much and hate the idea of anyone else going through what i did. the age girls start to get worried about their body is dropping so fast. if half of 4th graders (8 year olds!) don't like their body, i can only imagine what our society will be like in another 10 years.

I am disgusted by the questions being asked by the preteen girls who think they are "fat." But what bothers me even more is the responses of YA users. These young teenagers are already self-conscious about their weight and probably have low self-esteem to combat. They don't need other people telling them they are overweight, nor do they need to listen to the bad dieting and exercise advice from people who have no idea what they are talking about. Everyone's healthy weight is different based on body type and I think it is awful to compare the weight of one girl or boy with that of another. I wish these preteens would not try to fit into society's mold of the ideal body and instead feel confident in themselves no matter what their size. I realize that obesity is a problem in this country, but most of the people who ask the "am I fat" questions are not even close to being overweight. In fact, most of them are perfect just as they are and I wish they could have the same insight as I do on the matter. I have seen too many girls go on crash diets and/or exercise TOO much...it is not healthy and it makes me wonder when this obsession will end!

Children that are preteen need to stop comparing themselves to these teen idols.Their beauty is depended on starving themselves skinny because the camera adds on pounds.Plus some celebrities aren't all that good looking without their makeup artist.

some women in basic terms opt for reassurance. you comprehend the way judgmental toddlers and society is lately...that is tremendous in the adventure that they opt for to understand if human beings imagine they are noticeably. No i do not discover it annoying. And no i'm a no longer a "tween" or a "preteen."

It is sad the way that young girls are sooo skinny and if they're not they are busy starving themselves. Too bad the media doesn't applaud loving yourself the way you are. There would be young girls growing up without body issues, wouldn't that be nice.

It's upsetting that we live in a society where people are so critical of that sort of thing that it causes so much angst for others. Like you say these kids are growing children and their minds have already been corrupted thanks to this stupid self-depreciating ideal of beauty that we seem to have built around ourselves.

No, it annoys me. It's blatant compliment-fishing...I hate phoniness and insincerity.
