I was sleeping and when I went to sleep? THERE WAS NO ONE IN MY HOUSE!, I wake up to a cop with an attitude and get fined 400 bucks!.. what the hell did I do?... well the lkaw says if its in your house even if you didn't know, you are resonsible...so I got the nightstick you know where even though I have NO memory of it..

It basically goes by what is socially acceptable. Anything that collides with "social norms" could possably be considered against the law.
Depending where a person lives, laws can be different. Rule in society can be different. The ten commandments could be a place to start, possibly, for a early civilization. There are rules within families, tribes, groups, and all can be different to any degree. It is our familiarization within our own group that gives us a pretty good idea as to what is acceptable and what is not.
To me, only the real dopes need it to be written down for them in the form of statute. In the long run, just do the right thing. If the situation is questionable... what would your Grandmother have done?

It is illegal to crap on the street as you put it.
As many have said if it does not feel right do not do it.
For instance i pee in your front garden or crap on your lawn how would you feel.
The same law covers peeing as does crapping (the public order act).
My worry is that you clearly have a misunderstanding of right and wrong but you have learnt to use a pc to get online shows where your priority for knowledge lies.
Pee in the street in the middle east you will be publicly folgged and 9 years in jail.
Pick up a book with real words and read facts instead of the OK magazine and you might just learnt something about life

There is really no way to know for sure. I guess we are forced to just use common sense and hope for the best. I am unsure of laws regarding public urination or public drunkeness, (though aren't pubs and bars and some recreational activities serving alchohol these days?) And if ya gotta go-ya gotta go when it comes to pissing in public. Just do the best you can to follow the law, and try to do more good than harm in life. Peace.

pee in public is a criminal offence as is being drunk (drunk & disordily), figured this would be common sense though
parents usually teach the difference between right & wrong (if their any good)
and you pick up things from news
you could always go and ask the police if in doubt
basic laws of the country (uk) are based on the 10 commandments

Try living under the code "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", and your question will be answered. Would you like to take your family out somewhere and see someone p'ing in front of you. Or how about a nice romantic meal interrupted by a drunken fool being sick or causing a scene. If you started respecting the people around you perhaps the people would respect you in return.

Please use the phrase "Horse Sense" for as you phrase it "common snese" isn't very common.
The answer to your question is, when in doubt, don't!
It is also a reasonable thing--Do you want people peeing on the street, or drunk and staggering down the sidewalk?
The basic rules are: if it infringes on another's rights, or endangers them, or is contrary to public health, or is disgusting, it is probably against the law.

You are supposed to be taught by your parents right and wrong, which includes crime. Now laws that are Malum prohibitum are different, because they are usually procedural law, not inherently wrong.
IE your parent's should have taught you that Murder is wrong. Murder is illegal, but even if it was not, it would be wrong so it is Malum in se (wrong in itself.)
but if you commit a crime like, say an illegal U-turn which is not inherently evil, but is illegal nonetheless.
Anyway, you have a general idea of the laws and rules because many things that are wrong are illegal.

In a world that's ever more complicated to live in, ignorance - unfortunately - is no defence. This is the dilema - though I don't have an answer unfortunately.
To be fair however, most of us seem to manage it. Most (?) people who break the law know that they're doing it. For example, pirating music.......

you've got a good point. basic law should be taught at school.
maybee, in these days of political correctness gone mad, you could have a defence, in that nobody actually told you not to cut someones head off with an axe.
the bit in law about ignorance is no defence? that has to be the biggest cop out ever.what kind of law is that?
